For the purposes of this conversation, let's let "middle" = not as old as Gary Payton or Mitch Richmond
when they joined the Lakers.

Gary and Mitch were in their mid-thirties and not leaders of their teams anymore when they joined the Lakers
to "ring chase" as @Nima0614 alleges. Kevin Durant is still in his late-20s, was the leader of his squad, and in
the upper caste of great players
in the league.
No. Define "middle."

Do we know if KD is in the middle of his career?

The problem I have with this board is dudes refusal to be straight forward with shyt. I was just moved to a different place on KD in this very thread by @bl2k8 post. Why is it so hard for you dudes to mull over actual being said and either agree or deconstruct what was said?

You're not a fortune teller. We don't know if KD is in the middle of his career. If you did, I'd ask you to join me in buying lottery tickets so we can use your fortune teller gifts to both get rich.

Personally I don't got a problem with what KD did. Career wise it was a brilliant move and I think he made the best possible choice. As a competitor, I don't see how you wouldn't think it's a weak move.

If we're to compare it to what Bron did with the Heat, the difference is that Bron formed that superteam once he joined them. Miami wasn't really doing much before he came. Golden State was practically a superteam before Durant came along, so it looks more like Durant is hopping on the bandwagon. This is amplified by the way Durant lost to the same team the year prior.

I think if Durant ended up beating Golden State last year the move wouldn't look as bad.

Define middle. KG career can end on Friday for all we know. Who knows a players middle (pause) to be so certain that they can act like they have healthy years in front of them?

You think Penny and Grant foresaw their dominance being shortened?

It's smart when you think about it. This isn't a video game.

Lol @ this intellectual dishonesty. Most people would say Penny and Grant got injured in the middle of their careers. Don't be dense.

Halfway over.

Do we know if KD is in the middle of his career?

Do we have reason to believe that he is not??

You asked if Penny or Grant could know their dominant periods would be shortened, but I didn't say anything about their
"dominant periods". What we do know is that even with their injury-laden careers, they still played way past 28, which is
what Kevin Durant is now.

Is doesn't get more straight-forward than to say you don't respect this move Durant made.

That post @bl2k8 made is valid - but you can do that for every upper echelon player that every played
and didn't win Championships in their early years. You still never saw them do what KD did here.
That's a straight-forward fact.

no the argument is being the second best player in the league, choking a 3-1 lead, texting the other team all year, then running to join them like a "bytch ass nikka" word to eazy E

Ray Allen went to a team that beat them once or twice before.

Yes....because we don't know the future!!!

At what point do we tell anyone other than in sports to not go after the best opportunity to be with a top company? I would never tell my kids "nah....you're not even halfway through your career." :chilldplease:

But you're asking KD to do so. :snoop:

Here's the point. I said it in mentioning them.

What we do know is that even with their injury-laden careers, they still played way past 28, which is
what Kevin Durant is now.

But what we do know is that they were no longer dominant players that could truly carry the load as they once could have in helping carry their teams to the championship.

I really don't get you dudes.

They were no longer dominant and could be relied on to carry a team to the ship.

Injuries derailed their peak. I should have been more clear and speak on their peak being shortened rather than overall careers.

Now that I've made that clear, address my point.

Your point is bootsee.

You talkin' about some fluke "what-if" type chit.

You brought up niccas nobody was even talking about - we were talkin' about Mitch Richmond and Gary Payton.

1. I didn't ask KD to do anything.

2. Was going to Golden State "the best opportunity" for KD??

You're way to emotionally invested in this shyt like it's you out there on the court playing :mjlol: You're just stuck on these bullshyt ass narratives that a player has to struggle to get their championship, like Durant didn't struggle for 8 years in OKC.
2010- OKC loses to the repeat champ Lakers
2011- OKC loses to the eventual champ Mavs
2012- Loses to the Big 3 Miami champs
2013- Westbrook gets injured
2014- Lost to the eventual champs Spurs and Ibaka was injured during that series
2015- Ibaka and Durant both miss the season
2016- Lost to the 73-9 Warriors who were 58 seconds away from a repeat and who won it the year before

Durant has literally got eliminated by a team who won a championship every year of his playoff career. Is that enough struggle for your entertainment :stopitslime: Dude was sick of that shyt and left. Durant ain't thinking about you when he made his decision
exactly.

he spent damn near a decade trying to win a title. He struggled and it didn't happen.

Where's your proof that KD will remain healthy in the future?
