Reminds me of Bill Burr's take on the situation months ago at around 4:30 :dead:

Where's your proof that he won't?
My proof is that we are BOTH in the state of "what if."

The only issue is, you're the one dumb enough to think yours is valid and mines isn't.

Pierce's career got elevated SO much after the Celtics stacked their team and won a title

Hypocritical, he should understand the importance that winning has on a career better than anyone

You're way to emotionally invested in this shyt like it's you out there on the court playing :mjlol: You're just stuck on these bullshyt ass narratives that a player has to struggle to get their championship, like Durant didn't struggle for 8 years in OKC.
2010- OKC loses to the repeat champ Lakers
2011- OKC loses to the eventual champ Mavs
2012- Loses to the Big 3 Miami champs
2013- Westbrook gets injured
2014- Lost to the eventual champs Spurs and Ibaka was injured during that series
2015- Ibaka and Durant both miss the season
2016- Lost to the 73-9 Warriors who were 58 seconds away from a repeat and who won it the year before

Durant has literally got eliminated by a team who won a championship every year of his playoff career. Is that enough struggle for your entertainment :stopitslime: Dude was sick of that shyt and left. Durant ain't thinking about you when he made his decision

unless your bird or magic (being drafted to play with cap, or getting mchale and parish your second season more than likely you're going to struggle)

Part of the process of winning is losing first.

Jordan
85 - lost 3-1 to the bucks
86 - swept by boston
87 - swept by boston
88 - lost to detroit 4-1
89 - lost to detroit 4-2
90 - lost to detroit 4-3
91 - broke through and won the title

shaq
93- miss playoffs
94 - swept by pacers
95 - swept by rockets
96 - swept by bulls
97 (joins lakers) - lost to utah 4-1
98 - swept by utah
99 - swept by spurs
00 - broke though won title

isiah thomas
82 - miss playoffs
83 - miss playoffs
84 - lose 3-2 to knicks
85 - lose 4-2 to boston
86 - lose 3-1 to atlanta
87 - lose 4-3 to boston
88 - lose 4-3 to the lakers
89 - break through win title

dr j
77- lose 4-2 to portland
78 - lose 4-2 to bullets
79 - lose 4-3 to spurs
80 - lose 4-2 to lakers
81 - lose 4-3 to boston
82 - lose 4-2 to lakers
83 - won title

Almost all superstars HOFs had to go through hell to win. This isn't anything new with Durant. The biggest difference is the guys i mentioned did not have another top 5 player with them nor did they jump to an already great team to win. People don't criticize durant for leaving, they get on him for going to the warriors. If he went to the wizards, spurs, bulls, etc.. no one would bat an eye. People question his competitive spirit by taking the so called "easy way" out to win a ring.

How many of those guys actually had the opportunity to sign with said teams without them having to break up their main core?

It's easy to say what you never would've done when you never had the option
Unrestricted free agency wasn't even a thing until Tom Chambers in 88

Let me ask you this:

If the Thunder beat Golden State last year, do you think Durant still would've gone there?

I think he would just for the sheer fact that Golden State is a better team than OKC from top to bottom and he perfectly fits in their system. If he also lost against the Cavs in the finals I would have no doubt he would still have gone to GS.

That's not "proof",

and my point stands that KD is in the middle of his career, compared to where Gary Payton and Mitch Richmond were.
In that context, that is a fact. You can take that other bullchit back across the street.

I've no problem with Durant doing what he felt was best for his career, even though I'd prefer if several teams had a chance of winning the Championship, and not just two juggernauts. But at the end of the day, it's his career and he can do what he wants with it

But in 15-20 years, I don't wanna hear him whining and bytching about people not showing him enough respect, and hear him complaining about where he is seen in the list of the all-time greats. Yes, he'll have his rings and his hundreds of millions of dollars, so some people will say "why would he give a fukk about what people think?" But he WILL whine and bytch about it. He is probably the most sensitive superstar since Shaq

yes it is.

YOU can "what if" your way to believing that KD will be healthy and has prime years ahead of him.

I CAN'T "what if" my way to even saying that it's not guaranteed and he should go after being on top because NOTHING is guaranteed.

I'm the guy who sees that tomorrow isn't guaranteed to anyone so you should go now. You're the guy who acts like prime KD is guaranteed to be here tomorrow so he shouldn't have made that move to GS.

I find your thinking process to be very flawed.

AGAIN.....you're the one telling KD not to go after the best opportunity to win NOW as if tomorrow is guaranteed.

Donny said it best....but you ain't hearing him... :mjpls:

I'm out....
