Jordan guarded magic again in games 3 4 and 5 at times, go back and look at he tape. Magic had good games throughout the finals regardless of who guarded him. Phil didn't want Michael in foul trouble so he had him guard magic in spots in games 3 4 and 5

Pippen is one of the best defenders ever. That is one of main reasons the bulls won titles. Pippen without jordan = multiple playoff losses. Jordan without pippen or a developed pippen = multiple playoff losses.

Everybody needs help. That doesnt discredit anyones' merits.

I think y'all may wanna check Magic's numbers the remainder of the series and act as if he was just some sort of sideshow the rest of the way.

Not really sure why the thread continued after these.

Pippen was a pretty good offensive player as well as was an elite defensive player. Pippen was one of the few NBA players that had elite on and off ball defensive abilities.

To the other question, Magic dismantled MJ. Magic had his way with the Bulls till they put Pippen on him. Then Magic went off individually but not making everyone better. Think of CP3. He is more dangerous making everyone better than individually but he can't be stopped individually as well but it's a lot easier to win if he his just going off instead of the team.

:snoop: You can tell your dumb ass didnt watch the series, stick to gaytl sports you earthworm lookin homo

When Jordan was on Magic, the spacing on the floor was so much more for the Lakers and made old ass Sam Perkins effective as a three point shooter when Magic kept backing Jordan down deep into low the blocks.

Yeah...Magic still did his thing later in the series, but Pippen wasn't getting pushed into the low blocks when Magic was posting him up. So it hurt the Lakers spacing on the floor much more when Phil made the switch.

What is lost in all this is how much of a beast Magic was before he retired. Dude had plenty of game left.

Yea I think so. Jordan is the ONLY player in NBA history who won titles without a legit, above average, big man in the post. A big man who effects the game on offense and/or defense.

Stop...Horace.

And after game one they put pippen on magic and the rest is
history.
This has become some kind of myth. Mike started out on Magic every game of that series. It's true that Pippen would switch on and off of Magic during the game, but Mike remained the primary defender.

Mike wasn't the primary defender. Pippen was the one disrupting the spacing for the Lakers.
