About 90 percent of slaves bought to the new world went to Brazil. Kind of amazing when you think about it.
Really is, I came across something the other day that said that the relatively small island of Haiti recieved more that twice the number of slaves that went to North America, thats crazy as fucc

Yup, crazy. But when you really think about it, the numbers make sense. The proportion of slaves that landed in Brazil were so much that even after 400 years, they were still able to preserve a large part of their their culture (Yoruba), it probably helped that unlike the slavery movements in North america, most of the slaves to Brazil were from a more concentrated region, A LOT of the slaves were from the Biight of Benin which was mostly between the shores of Lagos in Nigeria and Grand Popo in Togo-a 100 mile stretch that was(and is) largely Yoruba based.

Most Black Americans (African-Americans) are descended from a combination of Yoruba and Igbo.

True, I remember reading an article that said 60% of African Americans have one Nigerian Ancestor, usually mostly from the slaves taken from Calabar port. but there was a considerable amount from senegambia, Ghana and Serria leone as well. What I was trying to say was that the proportions weren't as distinct as that of the Yoruba's in Brazil where it was an overwhelming majority.

I don't know if the 90% is correct. Check this website...interesting info. Play around with the table:

Estimates

Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade

That 90% figure is nowhere near close. At best the number is 50%. And this is just based on my own research but between 1650-1850 40% of all slaves went to brazil, no way it jumped to 90. It's also worth noting more slaves went to Mexico than the US.

This is true, but the real reason that black brazilians are still able to maintain some of their native customs, which was left out of your post, is because of the short life expectancy of the brazilian slave.

Brazil had the most slaves of any slave owning country in history. Thats because the black slaves were LITERALLY, herded, breeded, and worked to death, LIKE CATTLE. The average life expectancy of a male slave was 32, and if they were born a slave in brazil, it was even shorter.

These crackers LITERALLY beat, killed and worked to death ALL BLACK PEOPLES, males and females. They didn't bring wives, if they even had families; so they raped the women (some "wifed" them because there were no women besides the slaves). Seriously they SLAUGHTERED Black men, women and children, like fukking cows. This is because IT WAS CHEAPER TO JUST BUY MORE SLAVES. There was no incentive to treat these slaves like your work force. This is why the brazilian blacks are able to maintain a culture, because there was a fresh crop of new slaves every season.

THIS IS HOW AMERICA DIFFERS. THEY TWEAKED THE WHITE SUPREMACIST SYSTEM TO PERFECTION.

They took lessons from brazil on HOW NOT TO RUN YOUR SLAVES. At one point USA imported so many slaves, that their was more slaves than the white population. They said fukk THAT! Theres to many of these ****ers , they might stage a revolt.

America started to import LESS, and LESS slaves. And started breeding them. without the influx of new slaves, this destroyed any cultural connections among blacks. Then they brainwashed us. Then they controlled the numbers in the black population. Then they created a managerial system of hard labor, and deadly consequences.

Breh, can you post some links and/or documentaries about the slave trade in south america/Caribbean?
