Can anyone explain why Melo is such a great player without including he scores a lot or no

So that's what's on ya mind on a Saturday a.m.?

His scoring ability is what makes him great, not just great but all-time great when it's all said and done

And with that ability when he's on the court you have to focus your defense on him, which opens up his teammates.

The problem with Melos scoring is the majority of it comes from mid range 2's (most inefficient shot in basketball). The two types of shots we need Melo to be good at to actually be considered an elite scorer- at the rim and 3's...he's not good at. Melo jacking twos is a win for the opponent every time he does it.

Melo not good at the rim? Or shooting 3s? Do you watch basketball or look at stats?

you're one of those analytics, 3 or key guys. How did that work for James Harden? Or Lebron in the finals? I bet you he wished he knew how to make a mid range jump shots while he was bricking all those 3s. I understand not liking a player but saying Melo isn't good at scoring at the rim is just insane.

Compared to other "elite" guys Melo sucks at the rim. This isn't subjective. Do yourself a favor and read this and stop sounding like the old guys championing batting average and pitchers wins like they're meaningful.

I'm beginning to get nervous about what Porzingis does in summer league. I don't want him getting yammed on. :sadcam:

You just know damn trolls like Isola are ready to pounce if he has a rough debut.
He weighs about 65 pounds...its gonna happen :francis:

Dudes around here live to hate on NY. Its insecurity. Don't let it get to you. :knickstape:

2014 season Melo took the most 3s in his career and shot 40%

In the Triangle the mid-range shot is an ideal shot...Add to the fact Melo is probably the best Mid range shooter in the NBA

Melo doesn't drive as much as he did when he was younger, but he still a strong finisher. Especially operating out the post.

You Anti-Melo we all know...but let it go..

:dead: You day drinking again breh? You forget melo is a bully in the post and his 3pt game has improved over the years. Last year he didn't play much but the year before he was shooting 40% from 3pt land

Melo is actually a poor finisher at the rim, but he makes up for it in effort cause more times than not he gets his own rebound and goes right back up with it...

Melo's best asset is probably the ability to draw contact/fouls and he's a pretty good FT shooter. He just takes too many damn shots where there's zero chance of drawing a foul.

:what: Kawhi on the Knicks by himself would be the worst team in the league. With him being 100 percent healthy. He's not #1 option as proven last playoffs. Melo haters smh
Same thing with PG. they need way more help to win because they can't score at an elite level
I said overall since the trade they've stunk. One good year out of four...and that team had Kidd and Chandler
so your calling playoff years stinking ? Your not even trying to be realistic . I guess every team that loses in the first round stinks in your eyes .
Melo better than Leonard is legit retarded
:snoop: you think throw him on the Knicks they win the division or something

I watch basketball and know the game. An article won't change my viewpoint. The statistical king Lebron looked like a poor man's Carmelo Anthony with those bum teammates because he couldn't score in a variety of ways. No post. No midrange. No 3 point shot. You want a guy to just shoot 3s and layups when no player who does that has won a ring. Ever. That's an analytic myth. Looks great in the regular season, gets you smoked in the playoffs.

when have you seen Carmelo shoot 38 times to score 40 points multiple times? The fact that you would rather have Kawhi Leonard, a proven number 2 guy AT BEST, shows that you will never give Melo a fair shake. Put Melo, PG, Durant, even Khris Middleton on SA and they win at least 3 titles. Melo has never had the tools to make a deep run to the finals.

right now? of course not the roster is terrible...but they'd win more games for sure.

He's improved though. If you check his 3 pt % from when he first arrived in the league till now you'll see that. Who would you rather have that would supplement Melos scoring if we get him out of here?

Kahwi Leonard is an amazing player and his defensive prowess is second to none but look at the team he has built around him. He's not an offensive threat yet and he will not carry a teams scoring load. It would be awesome if he develops a more complete offensive arsenal .
