The triangle might be good for him...I always thought he was an underrated passer.

And the overrating begins, he's a bust no matter how you slice it, doesn't matter if you drafted him or not the reason he's coming to the Knicks for $5 million a year is because he's a bust.

He's a decent rotational player, far from "good" and what he gets on offense he typically gives up on defense. We talking about a dude that couldn't win the starting job over Jason Thompson....
What more are we asking him to be than a decent rotational player though? That's my point. He's good. no one in the NBA is "far from good".

If he can average 10/5 off the bench, I'm happy with that. He's a bust for what he was supposed to be, but doesn't haven on be a bust for us.

In comparison to starting NBA PFs he's far from good, which is why he doesn't start :yeshrug:

The Knicks are probably going to start him :scust:

thats a self defeating argument, were not arguing whether 'nba players are good at basketball'... were talking about how players match up against others in the league... and up to this point, derrick williams has been a below average player aka 'hes not good'

50% of ball is defense, unless youre dirk nowitzki, u cant be just playing at one end of the court.

My Pops Forever RIP
On one hand u look at williams size, skill set and the stats he put up in college and u figure he has to put up at least 15 10.

On the other hand:beli: this nikkas averaged 4.3 rpg for his career
Lets hope he figures it out. I'd be happy with 10 6. Gonna need him to hit the boards hard if he plays the 4.
5 mill is a bit much but the potential is there and it's only 2 years.
His rebounding will forever suck, but I remember him filling in for Love and he held it down. He depends on a good guard but he'll function with Calderon

He's had plenty of chances, dude is a bust.

Since you wonder why, he's too small to guard PFs effectively and he's not quick enough to defend SFs. That is why he has struggled so much in his career.
In all fairness, he never had a good weakside defender since he's been in the NBA while playing at PF.
