Forced?
I was holding back my excitement at possibly signing Derrick because I wasn't sure we'd get him...but now that we have, I can say this is my favorite move of the offseason so far.
I have nothing to base my optimism on except a gut feeling that this guy is going to be a solid contributor for us. Watching him play last year I clearly remember wondering how a player with his skill set wasn't beasting...maybe he's the anti-bust and actually excels on a bigger stage in a bigger market...
As a first option? Yup.He's had plenty of chances, dude is a bust.
As a first option? Yup.
A bust for Minny? Yup.
A Bust if WE had drafted him #2 overall.
We're not counting on DWill the cornerstone, we're using him as a role player.
He's a good player, just not a great one. He's far from a bum though and his history in Minny and Sactown have nothing to do with is.
On one hand u look at williams size, skill set and the stats he put up in college and u figure he has to put up at least 15 10.
On the other hand this nikkas averaged 4.3 rpg for his career
Lets hope he figures it out. I'd be happy with 10 6. Gonna need him to hit the boards hard if he plays the 4.
5 mill is a bit much but the potential is there and it's only 2 years.
Which means he's getting the money he deserves and was a good pickup for the moneyAnd the overrating begins, he's a bust no matter how you slice it, doesn't matter if you drafted him or not the reason he's coming to the Knicks for $5 million a year is because he's a bust.
He's a decent rotational player, far from "good" and what he gets on offense he typically gives up on defense.
2 years 10 mill for Derrick Williams
horrible
Which means he's getting the money he deserves and was a good pickup for three money
K thanks
I'll remember all of this.
