Some cats just live to complain. LMA, Gasol and DJ were always long shots. Greg Monroe wanted us more than we wanted him (didn't even give him a max offer so it's safe to assume his agent or camp has been the source for the rumors about our intense interest). Afflalo at 8 million is arguably safer than the risk on Wes Matthews and a better fit than Monta at 11 million. RoLo gives this team exactly what Phil wanted, a rim protector with some mid-range and rebounding. Williams would make a nice addition because he can play 3/4 interchangeably like Melo can and he hit 40% on corner threes making him a solid triangle piece. He has a lot of unrealized potential, dude was the second pick in the draft once. Brewer makes sense as a depth piece with the cap space drying up, he's a high motor guy off the bench and one thing he does well is transition ball...if our bench is gonna include Grant, Galloway and KP, then easy buckets will be a nice way to help them as they develop.

People are too damned short sighted or chasing the quick fix. Phil said on day one this team would take years to have a contender. But the moves he's made since the Prigioni trade have helped this roster progress (and you could argue about earlier deals as well).

Aldridge clearly wants to leave the Blazers , and even giving the lakers another meeting . But WE COULDNT EVEN GET A MEETING with him so to say it was a long shot etc is ok if we pitch and don't get him but to get shut down before that pitch even happens is embarrassing

We've got 7.6 in space and then the LLE, so I'm hoping we figure out a way to get both, though it's unlikely.

As far as the Knicks' offseason moves themselves, they're solid. Not breathtaking, but the framework is there.

Hopefully, KD is the missing piece for the 2016 offseason.

Knicks had a good offseason so far, considering they were starting from the bottom. Lopez is a good big man, Afflalo doesn't kill cap for 2016. Now the goal should be to land someone like K.J. McDaniels and/or Orlando's Kyle O'Quinn and try to remain young. Going from 17 to 35-38 wins next year will be tough, but better guys at the top. Eye on 2016, where guys like Conley, Horford and Batum hit FA. Even guys like Gallinari, Eric Gordon, Nene hit the market and could be nice, short term pieces.

The Rockets can match with an exception, so we'd need to go over the LLE if we wanted to make sure we get him. I'm not sure if the leftover money would be enough for Williams but it might be and if not I'd take a look at either Bass, Scola or Biyombo. The first two for the whole at PF and Biyombo to get another defensive minded big that's young with upside. I haven't heard much at all about Bismack so maybe he could be our LLE target.

Yeah, I always get it confused but I believe we'd have to spend the 7.6 before offering the LL but it might be that we just have to get to a point where we have less cap space then the total value of the exception. That I'd need clarified.
