Well --

yall blame melo for everything:heh:
its damn near comical

Melo commands a lot of money, a lot of attention, was traded for a lot of assets, so the standard is set high.
it 10 minutes it went from "lamarcus dont wanna come cause phil wants him to play center" to "man no one wants to play with melo he has no power:deadrose:"

Those are separate points that you're linking.

Melo not being a draw like other "superstars" is a real thing. He's not the kind of talent that other players clamber to play with. Kev Love just had the worst season of his life, but he's going back to play with LeBron.

At one time, people thought Melo was a superstar on that level. Obviously, he's not. Which... a lot of us already knew.

that might be another factor As to why free agents dont wanna come to the squad
the fans hate on the stars unnecessarily for no reason

There are a lot of tough fan bases and media markets... but forever the thought process was 'Players don't want to live in ______ so they didn't sign" Now you got guys taking long ass deals to play in Milwaukee.

Now maybe it's the fans are too mean. Okay.

i mean we even booed patrick ewing and ran him out of town:ld:

Every city boos, it is the nature of sports. Chicago, Cleveland, LA, Dallas... new york boos more because the teams have been ass for two decades. They were booing the knicks when they were a perennial top team.

i said it once, and ill say it again. Drafting a big man and calling him the future right before free agency when we are looking to sign a big man long term was the dumbest shyt phil coulda did

You said it before, and you were an idiot then. Anybody you draft at the 4 slot is going to be labeled the future, that is the NATURE of drafting somebody there, regardless of what position.

You think if we drafted Karl Towns it would be killing our free agency because he's a big?

Mudiay?

Russell?

didnt people think cleanthony could do the same ? Some people even thought he was Melos replacement cause Phil wasn't ever offering the max

I remember ONE early stan on here, but really... this was nota thing.

I really am rooting for Porzingis to win NYC over. He genuinely seems like he wants to help make y'all great. I hope in a free agency offseason where damn near nobody wants to fukk with y'all that y'all will rally behind him

Absolutely. I think he wants to make good. If nothing else, he'll be fun to root for and watch.

Took you damn near the whole day come up with a response and this is what you say :mjlol:

I'm not even gonna address the melo hating cause yall can't be reasoned with but

:mjlol: At yo comparing the allure of playing with Karl Towns to the allure of playing with unknown skinny Euros that have a history of never panning out and are 3 yearsfrom being effective (according to the person that drafted him.

Theres a difference between drafting #4 pick that is the "future" and drafting a #4 pick that is a "protect"

Drafting someone ready to contribute immediately would have set a different tone

Your statement is over your done for the night:camby::umad:

Lopez is underrated, that blazers team went down hill after his injury.
With him on the floor Kristaps may be able to start at the four

For those worried about Krispys defense, the man is 7'1.25" w/out shoes so a legit 7 3 with shoes:damn:

He might weigh less than 200 lbs but his length will allow him to compensate.

FUKK IT IM EXCITED ABOUT THIS TEAM

Grant aka the correctional officer will lock nikkas up and dunk on em

3 and D afflalo gonna put up 17 a game

Career Year coming up for a revitalized melo. U know he has a lot of pent up anger after watching Lala get piped

Kristaps:blessed: will be a PROBLEM for opposing PFs in the triangle. 7'3...7'3:banderas:

Robin Lopez, rim protector in his prime, will put up 11 9 2 on 55% shooting.

Calderon, galloway, shved, early and about 8 mill to spend for another FA. maybe bring back that cac goon Jason Smith:yeshrug:

Haters:camby:
This team looks promising. And we didn't give out any crippling long term contracts.

About the best we could have done given the circumstances.

Who would you look at though? I'd only consider Trevor Ariza but being that HOU isnt even in the running for LMA or anyone else for big money, i'm not sure they even make the trade. Plus he'd eat into our cap for the next 2 seasons

Not sure.

I am interested see what Phil does now. They got money and no immediate need. A proven SG/SF wing would be great but there aren't any sure decent ones left this FA.

Gerald Green is gonna eat for somebody next year, guaranteed. But Knicks shouldn't get him now that they signed Affalo.

Ya'll think Knicks need another wing and not a big man?

Lopez :salute:

Aldrich :scusthov:

Jason Smith :scusthov:

Acy :scusthov:

Amundson :scusthov:

Bargs :camby:

ok did the math and assuming the Lopez contract numbers are true and the cap goes up to 69 mil. The knicks still have around 11 Million in cap space if they don't waive Calderon. So the knicks could offer 5 years and 55 mil to a player.

If they do waive Calderon they then would have around 14.5 they could give up a 5 year 72 mil contract.

So in other words we got one more player coming :steviej:

edit: and you can't start Melo at the 4... he gets killed on D, and the wear on his body from banging with those bigger bodies always leads to him getting injured.

He should play the 4 at strategic points throughout the game but the Knicks need a solid frontcourt that allows Melo to play the 3. And yes I know he gets cooked at the 3 too but at least he stays healthier and thus more likely to give you 30 at the other end.

Its not that they don't need another Big man. the problem is they got KP and it seems like the knicks plan to give him minutes to develop. If KP is the future why invest heavy into a PF this year in FA? If they get a rental worth a damn or in need of a long term contract like D. Lee that guy is going to want to play heavy minutes the whole season.. I doubt the knicks wanted Aldridge to only play Center on the knicks but with KP on the roster he would of saw minutes there eventually.

So at this point the knicks need to find a older PF (maybe somebody willing to take that cap room exception?) or just keep players like Amundson or Jason smith so KP has a buffer but not a guy trying to eat his minutes at PF. If KP develops rapidly then the PF situation takes care of itself.

To this day I never understood wtf the title means. Still don't :heh:

But yo, any realistic chance Knicks can sign Kanter?

Can't imagine OKC letting him go...he is the piece that makes them championship caliber...

You know what you are getting from a healthy Sabo

You what yo are getting from a healthy KD

And the one thing they have never ever had is a legit low post scorer which Kanter is...he is a legit 20 ppg big man if he gets enough touches...

So yeah that is pretty :merchant: to have two of the top 10 (healthy KD) guys on the perimeter AND a great offensive big...

That lineup pretty much means nobody is ever guarding Serge...

And if Serge comes back healthy he can pretty easily handle whoever the other teams best offensive big is meaning Kanters horrendous defense doesn't hurt you that bad

Now if Serge isn't healthy it is going to mean every OKC games final score looks something like 118 to 110 though...
