I don't think we can afford both Marc Gasol and Dragic, but if we strike out on Gasol I would LOVE for Dragic to be a Knick
you sure you don't just wanna resign Jeremy Lin instead, I mean it seems like he loves playing with Kobe and he's playing so well so farfukk off. The Lakers are gonna give him a big contract.
I hope.
The thing is that I don't like having all that money tied up to two PGs. Why not pay Wesley Mathews then? He's a proven 3pt shooter, can pass, can cut to the basket, etc.On top of that, he shot 40% from 3 last year. Now that may be an outlier. But if he shows the ability to shoot near that number when this season is over... that's another reason to consider him.

JR is not part of the future. Ideally, I would like for him to get traded at the deadline. If Shump can prove that he's for real this season than you throw a lil bit money at him and have Tim come off the bench. You keep Larkin and develop him(not do what they did in the past and just dump him off). Marc Gasol is the key acquisition. Without him, other dudes are not going to want to join Melo and scrubs.
But more importantly, I actually tend to agree. I don't wanna lock all that money up in small guards.
That being said ... aren't we already over-stocked at wing? Melo, Arrah, THJR, Shump. That's four guys that need the ball and are getting paid. And I know we talk about "melo at the 4" - but dude is a wing. He doesn't rebound or score out of the post enough to realistically consider him otherwise.
Goddamn, we need decent big bodies so badly. Whenever I look at ANY free agents, I'm always reminded how bad our front line is.

Help On The Way?
There’s a chance that Jose Calderon and Andrea Bargnani could make their season debuts on Saturday night against the Sixers. Friday afternoon, the Knicks will return to MSG Training Center, which will allow Calderon and Bargnani to take part in a contact practice session. Calderon is a big key to the offense with his ability to organize the crew and hit perimeter shots. Bargnani will provide Fisher with another big body that can stretch the floor while operating in the Triangle system. Stay tuned to Knicks.com to see if both players will be available for the home contest on Saturday.
If the knicks miss out on Gasol I don't know what the right move would be. I rather they not pull another Amare and just get somebody to get somebody.
