i cant with some of ya'll :pachaha:

the motion in the triangle and the shot selection out of the triangle are improving so i think the offense will be okay. but they gotta get the defense right. once fisher gets a consistent rotation the team defense should improve. he can't go 10-12 deep with this team and expect good results. it needs to be:

jose (when healthy), pablo
shump, jr smith
melo
bargs (when healthy), stat
dalembert, acy

then either shump or melo has to play with the second unit. either that or bring in shane, tim, or maybe cleanthony (when healthy) and go small but it would depend on the matchups. no more jason smith or wear or aldrich unless someone gets hurt or gets in foul trouble. and i like all three of those players but it has to be them.

then d fish needs to run practice old school hoosiers style where everything is fundamentals and defense, they don't even pick up a basketball for the first hour. but is it just me, or is D Fish looking a little timid out there :patrice:

brehs the knicks could just tank and try to get a top 5 pick. I mean do the lakers win 2 more championships if they didn't fukk up in 2004- 2005 and draft bynum? Even if the knicks get Marc Gasol, imagine how tough they would be with another young big man next to him?

I know it sucks but the knicks should just tank, we werent going to compete for a championship this season and if the 2015 plan works the knicks aren't getting a great pick without making a trade for the foreseeable future (possibly though the whole of Carmelo's current contract).

so Tank Brehs

Their defense is fine. The last 2 games will drop these stats a little but they are:

1st in opp pitp
6th in opp fg% at the rim
6th in opp fga's at the rim
4th in opp fbps
9th in rpg
12th in opp 2nd chance points
16th in opp ppg (just below average)
17th in opp rpg (just below average)

It's only been the last 2 games where their defense has been atrocious. The 3'ball isn't hurting them because most of a team's offense is 2ptrs. Nuggets made 13 threes and still only scored 93pts and lost the game to NY. The Timberwolves making 2 more 3's than NY did not cost them the game. 23 turnovers, allowing 22 second chance points, allowing 20 fbps, and allowing 42 pitp is what did them in. NY is usually great in all 4 of those areas. They haven't lost a single game because of the 3'ball. They know how to defend. They haven't defended like the list above in years because they didn't have the system for it. The Triangle is designed for defensive balance. It was their offense that cost them games and in the last 4 games, the offense has picked up. They usually respond to back-to-backs, and if there was ever a time I expected them to respond, it was last night because they've run out of time.

The 2002 Lakers started 3-9 and was trash until Jan 5th and they had better players, good health, favoritism from refs and didn't have to deal with adjusting to a new coach and new system. NY doesn't have until January because they don't have as good of a team as the 2002 Lakers and the officiating will never be fair for them. They have to start winning games now or they will not make the Playoffs because Adam Silver and the refs will do everything to keep them out and no good free agents come to NY because there's plenty of places that pay them to win games; no need to have Phil pay them to lose. I don't care how much money Phil will have to buy them. Tanking won't fix anything. What good is a pick if no good players will accompany the pick? None. Waiting for most of the team to come off the books doesn't help either because that's more new players that NY will have to get used to and those new players will have to learn the new system.

They must find a way to win through all the injuries, cheating from refs, back-to-backs, lack of practice time, all of it. If they have to practice for 10 hours tomorrow and find the energy to play Saturday, they must win the majority of the 69 games they have left to make up for the big whole they've dug. Forget about waiting for José, Bargs, and deadline trades etc to help them. The team they have now must do it.

Please be patient my Knick brehs. No analyst had this team making the playoffs, and when Melo resigned he said he's here for the long term and knows the current team is not a contender. Let Phil and Fish rock. We know what the real goal is; the 2015 free agency.
