He is, same shyt he said about Bethesda but once that deal went through they announced all that shyt was going exclusive. The fact that they're trying to force a garentee that Microsoft won't make Activision/blizzard games exclusive is telling, because Microsoft never put any of these promises on paper. Once this deal goes through and all contracts are fulfilled, all bets are off.
This is a company that is known to throw money around to eliminate competitors in other industries, I don't expect them to start playing fair now.
No one likes losing money even with tax write offs. No one. Esp the tune of millions and billions.
Nah they were very intentionally ambiguous with the Bethesda/Zenimax purchase prior to settlement, they never said they were going to keep future ES or Fallout titles on PS platforms.
In this case, they were very clear about future COD titles remaining on PS. They're at risk of legal action if they go back on this. But key thing here is, they only mentioned COD, its safe to assume the rest of their games will be exclusive.
Bro the video game division is not even a quarter of Microsoft investments. Again stop talking this crap when it's the richest company in the world. Microsoft failed worst with Windows Mobile Microsoft Zune and Music marketplace plus more.
They are already getting a quarter Billy per month in Gamepass subscriptions bro and thats not even Xbox Live subscriptions. Stop the losing money crap talk. It's not holding up
They're being clear now because they're trying to get the deal through. Before then their language was "Activision blizzard games with be multi plat for the foreseeable future" and "Microsoft intends to honor all contractual obligations established by Activision".Nah they were very intentionally ambiguous with the Bethesda/Zenimax purchase prior to settlement, they never said they were going to keep future ES or Fallout titles on PS platforms.

And there would've been no legal trouble for going back on their word once the deal goes through, which is why the EU is forcing them to put that on paper.
Theres really nothing else notable about activision/blizzard though, overwatch and diablo are already multiplatform and after that theres literally nothing else worthy of discussion besides WoW
The status quo of every studio at activision being a cog in the CoD factory aint gonna change either.

What’s important is money.Oh you talking the goofy "number of players" metric MS been using lately. What about number of sales?
Activision has a lot of big IPs with tons of cultural cache. Warcraft/WoW, Starcraft, Diablo, Tony Hawk are all legacy franchises that penetrate beyond hardcore gamers, and actually resonate with casuals. Overwatch is a big IP too despite it being completely dead at this point with its upcoming sequel looking terrible.
MS wants this acquisition to go through because these legacy IPs are what keep people subscribed to these services - just look at Netflix and how it was so important for them to keep shows like The Office there.
As a gamer though, you're right, outside of the COD studios, none of the studios that make these other games even matter. The Bethesda acquisition was a much bigger blow to gamers. Especially since they were one of the few developers left making great single-player only games (well, not Bethesda last gen, but definitely Arkane and Obsidian).
Yeah, overall as it stands, nothing really changes by the time this passes through. Most of the big legacy IP’s are going to continue to release in the same place they always have, xbox fans are gonna act like its a win because they have to but when we all originally heard about this buy out people were celebrating potential exclusivity.
To see all the backtracking since January is already a huge L
Yeah, from when this was announced to now, this acquisition has become more and more insignificant to the hardcore gamer crowd.
Its definitely a great strategic move for MS towards their goals with Game Pass, but for gamers, not much really changes in the immediate future. I already own a lot of these legacy titles on both PS consoles and PC. Its going to take something way more significant to get me to use their shytty launcher on PC over Steam.
Obviously this would be good for gamers if MS could put the juice in some of these studios, and we see something like Toys For Bob make a ground breaking platformer, but the current evidence shows the complete opposite with massive failures like Halo Infinite or how their entire upcoming first party line up is in development hell. I wouldnt be surprised if we start hearing about all these Blizz/Act studios bleeding talent months after the acquisition is settled.

I also don’t know how they can have much confidence in reviving games when they’ve been sitting on legacy Rare IP for two decades
that would be a nightmare and Phil needs to do everything in his power to keep the talent and more importantly not meddle.
