By the way, OP you spent too much for your upgrade. I spent about..1100 on my latest upgrade and that is a full upgrade on EVERYTHING from my previous PC that I scraped for parts and sold on ebay to offset the cost. That is why it probably felt more of a scam on top of the monitor issue you're having.

Anyways, for some games, PC gaming can't be beat. Tried playing overwatch on console and it just doesn't compare to playing on PC.

Anyone else that games on PC with a HDR TV can tell you this.

I know hes not trying to make it seem like the 1xxx series cards are obsolete when the 2xxx just came out a couple of months ago

I have a 4k HDR tv and it does not enhance SDR content. I dont know if it works differently for PC, but HDR has no effect on sdr content.

If I play content that isnt hdr my tv automatically turns hdr off, if I try to manually turn it on, it gives me a grayed out box that says unsupported content.
