The fact that the UK has about the same violent crime rate with a lower homicide rate is one of the best cases for anti-gun sentiments

Not really when you take into consideration the fact that only a small percentage of our homicides were done with assault rifles and are concentrated in large metropolitan areas, with almost no correlation with how liberal gun laws are in the jurisdiction. Otherwise Utah would have one of the highest homicide rates in the nation as it has one of the if not the most liberal set of gun laws of any state.
