Let’s not act like people are dropping 20 people at a time with bolt action rifles. And let’s not act like people need 600 rounds a second to hunt an elk.

There’s this paranoia in the gun owner community that somehow if one weapon is banned that all your guns will be taken away. That has always been a lie used by the NRA and politicians to rile their base (and often drive up gun sales).

But perhaps more importantly than getting into a debate about whether ARs should be banned is the gun lobby’s refusal to even consider thorough regulations and background checks on who can get a weapon.
