For me, it's the portrayal of a near dystopian world where there are not many options getting ahead except for catering to the upper class. Basically how today's world is going. You can see the desperation a family would put themselves through in such a dynamic.

fukked up in the end where the son has all the motivation to get his family together only for him to still be stuck in the slum after going through all of that fukkery... Rich mom could get it btw.
