thats a good point.. u would think it would be easy to know how to cut off a ring, like it could be learned immidiatly.

Manny's more of a swarmer than pressure fighter though.

Swarmers are like Arturo Gatti or Paul Williams

Pressure fighters are like Marcos Maidana and Ricky Hatton

Some people do both like Margs:banderas:

Correct and its hard to swarm against a boxer who can move when you can't cut off the ring...Packeyow found that out the hard way against JMM and Morales...In 7 fights he made the exact same mistake...he followed...

I don't see his approach changing in his 65th professional fight...

More than Manny swarming, I think people forget Manny sorta fights off rhythm which might make it hard for Floyd to be AS precise to counter. We also gotta see how effective Manny is darting out because every guy Floyd's faced in the last 5-6 years stays right in front of him with no movement. Win or lose, Floyd's gonna WORK May 2nd. You ain't beating Manny being a passive / defensive counter puncher (something Marquez or Morales weren't)

I'll be in Vegas for fight weekend. I'm picking Floyd to win but Ive been feeling like this fight will be judged a draw. That's why I'm putting down $200-$300 on a draw. When was the last time a fight with 2 big stars had a draw??

I said it earlier in this thread that might be the best bet........there is no rematch clause and it would force hbo + show to do business again, +Floyd keeps his zero, more $$$$$ for Vegas.

manny might throw more punches then floyd, but i don't see him landing more

you have a point about activity and perception and who knows what kinda blow these vegas judges are gonna be on that night:patrice:

thinking back, if that canelo fight was even remotely close, canelo woulda got the decision

i just hope we get a clear and fair victory one way or the other
Name someone may beat that was in the same league as morales

Mayweather: I Had To Face Marquez Once, Not 4 Times
Posted by: Boxing Clever on 3/12/2015

Floyd Mayweather has declared his bout with Manny Pacquiao on May 2 as "the biggest fight in boxing history". Mayweather and Pacquiao went head to head for the first and only time prior to their mouthwatering Las Vegas super-fight at a press conference in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

And, with the contest clearly so easy to sell to an expectant worldwide audience there will be no pre-fight press tour - with the fighters not expected to meet again until the usual fight week preparations.

Mayweather, who will take a proud 47-fight unbeaten record into the ring, said - "May 2 is when the world stops - it's Mayweather v Pacquiao, it's the biggest fight in boxing history. This is a fight that the world can't miss. I'm in the gym working and dedicating myself to the sport because I have never wanted to win a fight so bad in my life. May 2 is the fight of the century. It's all about the best fighting the best and Pacquiao is one of the best fighters of this era."
Some believe Mayweather has picked the right time to face Pacquiao after appearing reluctant in recent years primarily over drug-testing procedures.

The Filipino's aura of invincibility was shattered when he was smashed to a sixth round knockout defeat by Juan Manuel Marquez in December 2012, although he has since rebounded with three straight wins.

“I look at this fight as just another fight. I’ve faced Marquez before, he’s faced Marquez four times. If I didn’t get the job done right the first time, I would have come back around and got it done right the second time. I haven’t had to go to number three and number four but some fighters have to. Pacquiao is a solid competitor, he’s tough and ambitious. But one thing I do know – in any sport, if you’ve lost before then losing is in your mind," Mayweather stated on the red carpet.
