Americans value "stuff" over travel. A lot of people in the US want the biggest house, car, tv, etc, that they can get. This leaves little expendable income for international vacations. Europeans would rather get a cozy little home and small, fuel efficient car and spend the extra cash on travel.

I never understand when people on here have like 3 cars :wtf:

Must be a culture thing, Londoners could live their whole lives without cars tbh, most people get one, but it's not really be necessary IMO.

That being said, most people do own cars, gotta "ball", innit bruv?

And I don't know about owning big houses in America, but try buying a big house in or near london.

A studio (no bedrooms lol) in Chelsea is near on a million dollars and a 2 bedroom flat in a council estate in Dalston (equivalent to the Bronx, but now "trendy" lol) is over 400,000 dollars, prices are extortionate out here, I bet the people who live in New York aren't buying big houses?

I assume the people that buy big houses are living in places most people from around the world have never heard of?

OP has been making this same thread over and over again for well over 5 years but I'll bite.

I'll agree w/ the fact that Americans tend to be insular and don't want to leave their comfort zone. They're content with getting away to a beach that's within a few hours of their home, either by flying or mostly by car. I think your average person believes it's a pain in the ass to leave the country, general fear, etc.

USA
this is incredible. most people from other continents travel yet for some reason American's feel the world begins and ends in America. today I was asked whats a better place to visit... England or London. smh.

what makes it worst for a nation that doesn't travel, they have the most opinions on other countries.
That sounds about right.
It may have less to do with thinking America is the world and more to do with the inability to travel. How many poor people cannot afford to travel to Canada or Mexico much less Europe or Asia even if they want to? There are low-income people on the border states who can go to Canada or Mexico, but that's different as travel expenses are lower.

I want to travel more and not just to Europe. But I only speak English. I don't want to go someplace and be targeted for a scam or something worse.

There's lots of reasons people don't have their passport. Looking down on them and trying to shame them for not wanting to travel isn't going to make them get one.

The people who want to travel find a way to do what they want to do

I've notice the TS is using phrases like "most people I know own 4 bedroom houses and cars that are 4 years old"

Not trying to hear it b. I'm far from rich, make the same as everybody else but I travel. Niccas would rather go to All Star Weekend and blow money at the strip club. It's their choice and I'm not mad, just the excuse of it being too expensive is like :why: but you stay wit the new iPhone and kicks doe.

Close thread.

Its all about priorities man, I have close friends who have NEVER been out the country. Why? For some of the same reasons listed above, I bet that applies for some of the fools in this thread...

But its their decision, we can't knock them.

Still, there's nothing quite like travelling brehs :yeshrug:

Dunno, I bought a flat in the suburbs (I put down 35 grand deposit), most people I know have saved up deposits, but you're talking saving up 20/30 grand+ at least these days, so I guess alot of younger people are fukked,

That's why they are always talking about a housing crisis out here, too msny people, not enough land, that's why people are concerned with the immigration over here, there is neither jobs or cheap houses (I'm talking london, dunno what it's likd up north).
