1. Less vacation time as opposed to other countries

2. Most Americans are shy to go to any place that's not a certified resort(Caribbean; some parts of Mexico) or "safe city"(Paris; Tokyo, London, Amsterdam, pretty much all of Western Europe). The "tourist spots" will likely be expensive(if we're talking Western European cities and Tokyo), thus less Americans traveling abroad, even though one can have a great or greater experience in South America; Central America, SE Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe for a fraction of the price.

nearly everyone in England owns a passport,

most Jamaicans own a passport and have travelled out of Jamaica and that's a third world country

I just check the stats and only 44% of the citizens in England own passports. :comeon::rudy:

Meaning over 50% of people in England don't have passports.

This is officially a trolled thread, I'm out.

Buying a $700 ticket to fly to Europe. At least $100 a night hotel. Traveling expenses in the foreign city would at least cost $100. Other expenses will probably be $200.

We talking about spending around $2000-$2500, compared to $200 pair Jordans.:usure:

:jayshrug:

You can get private room hostels(wifi and breakfast included) for under $50.
Who says you got to go to Europe? Why not Peru or Argentina(expenses would likely be a 2/3 of a trip to Europe), Panama; Belize(English speaking country), or DR/Cuba/Jamaica/Dominica(English speaking country)/Trinidad if you ain't scared of black folks?

Let's just cut to the point, which is that Americans won't go to any place that's not a tourist trap or shown on tv a lot.

One thing to think about is that 18% of the country lives on the West coast of the country. It takes us upwards of 6 hours just to get to places like NYC, DC, and other East coast cities. Then to fly another 7 hours to get from the East coast to Europe is a very long process. With that said since 2006 I've been to Europe three times, get to Canada at least once a year, and been to Mexico once. Traveling is probably one of my favorite things to do, but for some of us out west it's just as easy to fly to Hawaii and stay in the country.

I would highly recommend to anyone to travel to Europe though. Yes, it's expensive, but there are so many things to see and do depending on what's your preference.

Japan, but from the 989
I'm only surprised the number isn't over 75%. The price to leave the country is high if you are taking a flight overseas. And lets be honest Americans are conditioned to never leave the country. (Turn on the news see other countries looking like they are on the brink of world war 3.) shyt I know people who have never left their hometown longer than a weekend. "Passport? What is that?"
