Several things can be true:
That's why they were a 38 win team last year before the defensive upgrades this season.
- He's a fat beer drinking, no defense playing liability on one end of the floor
- He's one of the greatest offensive players ever on the other end
- DAL probably wasn't the best team in the West (I'd take DEN and a "healthy" LAC over them) but they won their round 2 and WCFs matchups fair and square vs healthy 1 and 3 seeds.
That's why they were a 38 win team last year before the defensive upgrades this season.
Boston was better, but Luka's defense and being average at best was disappointing.

Luka’s antics had nikkas calling Kyrie the most skilled nikka ever ,Made nikkas act like Lively was the second coming of STAT because he can run and catch lobs and made Daniel Gafford and fukking PJ Washington look like winning players

They were play in status before the trades for Gafford and Washington. Dallas went 12 0 in the regular season when doncic and Gafford started, 16-2 as a team down the stretch to close out the season (last two games they sat players)
82 games together and they wouldve been the #1 seed last year
This was not #8 seed Miami
Kyrie let the crowds in Boston mess with his mind, Luka looked completely out of shape and almost disinterested, they kept him in late during blowouts he was stat padding. The whole mavericks team looks like they ran out of gas
Luka deserves the criticism

Luka deserves the criticism
Coaching mishap. And strategy mishap. And player mishap.
Replace Kyrie and Lucka with Pippen and Jordan offensively....and even lower the defense to Kyrie and Lucka levels. It's not 4-1 Celtics.
Jordan would operate on the block to 15 feet out and let Pippen handle the perimeter actions or vice versa at times for a two level attack/initiation of offense. Mavs got Kyrie and Lucka both on perimeter except for they one win when Lucka was starting in the post often.

This season was not a failure for Luka and the Mavs. They ran into one of the better teams we’ve seen in recent NBA history.

He had a decent series by his elevated regular season standards...
I do think he dominates the ball a bit too much in terms of possession but on the other hand given the team it probably might have to be that way
Truth be told the Mavericks generated a huge number of wide open shots.....they just bricked them shyts repeatedly and badly....ball might have dented the rim like 2 SUV's colliding
I did not understand the gameplay last night tho.....the paint and the elbow should have been the main points of attack instead of trying to go 3ball for 3ball with the Celtics

Dallas didn't make the playoffs last year and made it to the finals this year as a 5 seed. Luka gets the same credit as LeBron did in 2007 for even getting to the finals. Lead the entire league in playoff total points, rebounds and assists. That's crazy
