This really needed at least 2 more seasons... :francis:
As a Lost fan, I hate to tell you, but if the ending isn’t what people want, it doesn’t matter what writing or how many seasons it is.

The fact on Twitter people seem to think it needed more time to make Danny evil sort of underlies the point they didn’t see it ending that way or other characters not getting some flashy ending.

People are just mad the show is ending. Literally happened with all the greats;

Buffy
Friends
Seinfeld
Frasier
etc.

Her being the Mad queen was foreshadowed heavy in the books.
Arya being a GOAT assassin foreshadowed.
Everyone hated Cersei both on screen and in the books.

Jon is the prince foretold....he literally did three things no one has done before. Become the youngest commander, united the wildlings, and was the catalyst for killing the Night King...some of you need to pay attention more. The only bad writing comes from Varys just giving up, and Tyrion cucking himself over Dany, even though she clearly went odd the deep end.

Two alternate endings that I might have preferred instead of Jon exiling himself to the Wall after killing Dany.

1. Dany orders to execute Jon at Kingslanding and it mirrors Ned’s execution: Dany is Joeffery/Cersei, Grey Worm is Ilyn Payne, Jon is Ned, Arya is in the crowd.. Except this time Arya can exact revenge.

2. Jon kills himself after killing Dany. He would probably feel partly responsible for the burning of Kingslanding since he supported Dany and he would feel dishonorable for breaking his vow and killing the queen he swore allegiance to so I can see him just wanting to die after killing the woman he loved.

HBO should have fired these dudes. Dummies let these fools ruin their biggest property.

I don’t think they could. From what I understand D&D have the tv rights to the show. GRRM signed off the rights to them not HBO.

Edit: Wrong on the last part. HBO does have the rights to the novels. I'm interested to learn more about the contracts D&D had with HBO and Martin.

As angry as people are about this episode, at least it was astonishing to look at from a directing and technical perspective.
The next episode will have to rely purely on the writing to sustain itself. People are already mad with the clumsy way theyve handled Dany's heel turn, if the show ends the way the leaks say it does, with Dany being stabbed by Jon, then a group of reasonable and level headed MEN stepping in to govern as a council after the two crazy queens have been put in the dirt, laaawd jesus, the fallout.
Im almost more excited for that than I am for the series finale.

Jon goes back to atone for killing the woman he loved and so that he can never be king or have any kids. Thus ending his Targaryen line and possibly the Stark line as women normally take their husbands title. Some "Prince that was promised" huh:francis:
Meh most prophecies in this show always turn up to be :duck: and him going back to the wall would be a fitting end for him.

Her going mad if left to her own devices has been one the main points of her character throughout both the show and the books

I think what ends up happening is Jon will take the black only to renounce his claims to the Throne outright, but there won't actually be a NW and he'll just venture beyond the wall with the wildlings, therefore exiling himself from the seven kingdoms.
