I think it falls on politics. Jon is a Targ at the end of the day and after what Dany just did to KL I think the council will decide that aside from out right killing Jon he needs to be isolated from everyone with no chance of continuing that crazy ass bloodline of looneys. It's messed up but I think of it as some post Pearl Harbor/9.11 reactionary bullshyt. He'll die alone as a nightswatchmen with no child to continue his line.

My biggest problems are;
Tyrion being blinded by some weird sense of loyalty, even when its obvious shes batshyt.
Varys being that dumb to openly tell Tyrion, knowing that he's officially batshyt for Dany.
Everything else was fine, I already knew Arya was going to be the "what a twist moment", when they not only made her OP, but when Melisandre pretty much called her Jordan in game six.Jon Snow's path was already epic, so much so that the Night King didn't want smoke, and Tormund is pretty much his battle buddy. The only bad thing they did with Jon, was have him give Ghost away.
Not much they can do to surprise us besides having Arya kill Dany and have Jon claim the throne of Ashes, though that would be a nice turnaround, Jon Targeryan, making right where Dany went wrong with Drogn, and the wildlings.

The Shield undefeated as a long running show that ended strong with maybe on 1 trash season out of 7 seasons. Anybody know of any others?
