For one, Kyrie already has game winners under his belt.

And Irving isn't as good of a passer as Rubio is (few are), but the rest of Rubio's game leaves a lot to be desired. Irving is a threat all of the time he has the rock; Rubio isn't a threat to score on you at all. And if Rubio doesn't have the ball in his hand, you don't even have to worry about him.

I'm not saying Rubio won't BECOME elite (though I do have my doubts), I'm just saying right now he isn't a top point guard, and I can't see anybody making a legitimate argument that he is.
Rubio is a better passer and defender, but that's where it ends.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Irving doesn't have a legit number two scorer at this point YET. He has to score a lot for them to win. I think his assists will go up eventually. You have to also look at what the coaches are asking him to do.

A.I. put up almost 8 assists a game without trying and could've dished 9 or 10 if he wanted, but he needed to score a lot for his teams to win most of the time :manny:

The only thing Kyrie does well is dribble, yall a bunch of and-1 mixtape ass nikkas in here. Being a pg is about getting ya team open shots and setting up plays, Kyrie is far from the best at that. He is a flashy player on a horrible team

At the top.
Going off the top of my head i'm going with a list of

Westbrook
CP3
Parker
Rondo
Kyrie

Ain't no way i'm putting Rubio on any list, dude is shooting way under 40% which makes Rondo's shooting look like prime ray allen percentages.
Kyrie needs to improve his passing and his defense ..with that said he's been impressive as all hell considering the injuries and the fact that his team sucks ass. Hope he makes the East reserves!

Rondo is just terrible. Assists from fastbreaks and his main gunners being HOFers. He tries tooooo fukkin hard to get assists, so much it actually detracts from the rest of his game.

7.3 assists per game
and 1 less turnover too

Kyrie is a great scorer, but im not putting him in the top 5 of point guards just yet. Not until he improves his defense and becomes a better creator.

John Wall averaged 8 assist a game for a garbage team

1. Wall can't score like Irvin
2. Irving is being asked to do more offensively just like Rose
3. Year 2 Rose averaged 20.1 points and 6.0 assist. In year 2 Kyrie Irving is averaging more points (23.1) and about the same assists (5.7). :shaq2:

ok, but you brehs want to put Kyrie in the conversation with the elite point guards. If you are averaging 5 assists and 3 turnovers a game at the point guard position, then you are not elite.
2. Irving is being asked to do more offensively just like Rose
he isnt. Wall is the Wizards offense. ITs not a coincidence that the offense's efficiency has gone up since he came back.

And in year two Derrick Rose was not being called a top point guard in the NBA.

And dont ignore that Rose averaged a turnover less than Kyrie does right now.

never said he was elite.

I think Irving is the best young up and coming point guard in the NBA hands down. He needs to at least win a playoff series before I would put him in the top 5 convo. I brought up those others stats to prove that he's at least trending in the right direction. To me assists are not just about the PG. Players have to hit shots as well.
