In most cases you need professional experience before you can start a business.

Black males will never be economically success on a macro level with an bachelor degree rate in the 20's

You need educated people to build a successful economy.
That's where the black elites come in to build jobs based on industry standards and directions.

If they were taught that field is important and explained why...it would change.

Nothing is an absolute and you are speaking in absolutes. We need a more black even spectrum. You want all these STEM jobs to be black and not focus on having black teachers...or lawyers to protect us from an unjust judicial system....that doesn't sit well with me. Plus studies have shown student sunder a black male lead i.e Principal and Teacher..the student do well in life and are more driven to geaux to college.
black teachers and principles way more possible, lawyers and judges? that gonna be hard

Working with actual young black people, the boys aren't going to or finishing college, or committing trades. Regardless if it's college or trades, it still requires committment to the process and delaying gratification.

I took one of the young men I work with to an Apprenticeship program few weeks ago*. You have to take an aptitude test, interview well, and then commit to the hours learning on the job as well as taking classes weekly for 3 years.

They expect you to be on time, diligent with the work and studies. A lot of people can't hack it at the trades either. We have to focus on the problems of lack of motivation, focus and committment. If you have those, you can be successful at college, a trade or as an entrepreneur.

*I'm still working with him on being more focused and consistent with following up to job/school opportunities and committing to things other than base pleasures. But at the very least, here he has something he's anticipating that isn't far away.
That's where black male teachers come in. This board and thread other than me has yet to place emphasis on educational degrees. It's imperative that we have beacoup black male teachers.

Myself and my own.
That's why we need more black men school teachers...hence education degrees. We do not need brehs doing STEM jobs.

Baltimore, DC, Houston, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, NYC and other rmajor blue cities with a high black populace test scores on reading and math are not on par with their white counterparts. To alleviate that we need more black male presence to even the odds out in our favor. So I'm against the gold rush if STEM jobs cause the younger black generations are getting dumber and dumber.
I think an overhaul of the system is needed. Someone posted a video where a black male teacher was frustrated with all the barriers put up by the school and system itself in letting him teach the class as he wanted so even with black male teachers, the system would prevent obstacles. Barring an overhaul, a safety net put in place for black male students with the understanding that such exists due to racism and not due to issues with the children. Additional mentoring, emphasis on home-schooling or alternate education, and so on. I think STEM degrees are useful and provide black people a means to blunt the effects of racism to some degree but the issue is that many families either don't know or are unable to navigate the means to not only a STEM degree but how to utilize it properly when they have one (since the issues in regards to employment are also effected by racism).

If you have more black male teachers it can be done. Alot of these black professional in the legal field champion a black educator at some point. I hate his mulatto ass. But Michelle and Barack Obama both had a black male leadership that taught, mentored and put them into position that they are in.

This board isn't understanding how powerful black male tutelage is and it's very telling.

Even though I got legit beef with Morgan State University and I have talked shyt about a few professors...but I had some of the best black male professors who are me the artistic powerhouse I am today. That's why when I geaux back to visit them to update them on my career I seek them out first before the women.

Correct. I read articles about the struggle black males teachers have with being a masculine domineering presence. But on the flip side I read articles that when black male educators endure and fight...they have amazing success stories.

Like Malcom X said you do not want your enemy educating your children.

Racism ain't geauxing away anytime soon in my, yours, his or their generation and future generations ahead. We know this. We still.must endure regardless. Without struggle we cannot expect progress. When give an artist talk at a prestigious art school next month, I will def try to mentor the graduating senior class on how to survive as an artist for the brehs and brehettes that will not geaux to art school. That's the only thing I can do besides being an art teacher, which sans this educational institution, most public schools do not treat the fine arts of visual as worthy expenses of the budget. All these black schools care about is sports, music and maybe theater. That's a problem too.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
So only 30% of black woman have a bachelors degree yet they were called the most educated group?

Also I don’t understand why men are the main focu group when it’s only 5% below black women.

You should know by now men don’t typically need just college to make money in this country. Women typically do.

Absolutely, unfortunately. And yeah, mentoring is very important. I give my parents credit for exposing me to the idea of using long-term plans and essentially plotting out one's life, in regards to classes, degrees and all that visually so one could get an idea of what sort of obstacles one could face. Like someone planning a project, I had to come up with possible alternatives if this or that were to happen (if I got a racist teacher, I would already know the arbitration process and how to deal with that since it was already written down, if I wanted to take a class, I would know all the possible alternatives and paths to taking that class). Building on it over time made a huge difference as well. A lot of that information was from various people and put together over time, creating a roadmap/manual for my younger siblings, who skated through to their degrees and professions. Planning and mentors having a part in that is key.

The black community needs to focus on income.

Obviously college statistically provides more income than other options but your sole purpose of going to college should be in a field that is going to generate income.

Nigerians and Indians have showed y’all the game forever now. Follow their path
