No one talks about how NFL offensive records have basically been made irrelevant by the ongoing rule changes. I feel this should be a bigger talking point :patrice:

yea i was chopping it up with them cacs on the atlanta falcons board and they swear Ryan is up there with the greats because of his passing yardage. This is a pass friendly league now. You cant compare Jim Kelly to Matt Ryan. Nowadays EVERY QB can pass for 3k

Defense is basically illegal these days
This. Teams allowing 20 points a game should not be top ten in points allowed. 9 seasons ago (2006), the top defense allowed 12.6 points a game I think. I know it was under 13. The league leader these days allows usually 14.5-17 points a game. I think maybe all the bottom 10 defenses allowed 27+, and even back in 2011, New England and Green Bay both allowed some 4,830 passing yards, the two highest totals in league history and won 13 and 15 games. That should be all that needs to be said.

I told you for a few years now that it's a passing league and defense is no longer played well and that rbs and lbs are going extinct and you were in denial.. I'm glad a hardcore purist like yourself sees how bad it's gotten.

It's now arena league football everyone passes 40 times a game. They'res no balance anymore. It's pathetic that teams can't even run 4th and short anymore because they don't practice running

Teams used to have identities and now everyone plays the same way.

Look back to the 90 Giants and the contrast between how they and the Niners played or them and the bills and how it made for amazing drama and great football seeing two teams with drastically different styles try to impose their will over each other in the NFC title game and then the Super Bowl

Well never see football like that again :mjcry:

It's more about teams taking advantages of match ups than anything. Adapt or die right?

Of course it's the rules not the teams fault were just pointing out how garbage the product is now

It's not fun to watch anymore . The games now catered strictly to fantasy. If you're a hardcore football fan it's unwatchable

The rules have something to do with it, but its also harder to run the ball. All of the good athletes with size play defense now....linebackers run like running backs. Why just waste downs running up the middle when you can spread teams out and take advantage of matchups? Its a combination of the rules and matchup plays...

High schools and colleges have done the same. It isnt just the NFL.

I'm still tuning in, I love the game, but that doesn't mean I'm not highly disgusted by the trend. This type of rhetoric is always used by super patriotic cacs in regards to shyt here in US- "if you don't like some shyt here why don't u move somewhere else" :childplease: type of bullshyt

NFL is still the best football league in the world, simply by the virtue of the best talent gathered there and parity. How this talent is being classified and utilized and marketed is another question.
So compare not watching tv to people telling you to uproot your life....had to include a "cac'ism" for cheap daps? Ain't you half cac?

And anyway, I may have replied differently if someone else made this thread, but thru your posting it's clear you spend numerous hours caring about the nfl, watching other teams, trying to break down game film...so yea, a product that disgusts you so much you spend 1/4? 1/3? Of your free time ingesting ?:childplease:

As for the bolded...if you feel that way, then who cares it became pass friendly?

Edit: i personally don't care for the pass happy league either, but moreso because of how they neutered defensive players.

Whatever the reason it's not entertaining. But lack of good running game is because of the rules and that teams don't practice it a lot anymore because of practice rules

Defenses are neutered mediocre qb's are putting up huge numbers Rb's and lb's are meaningless and physical football is dead

I dont see a problem. Things happen in cycles. The age of the power running game is gone. :manny:
