Whatever the reason it's not entertaining.

Defenses are neutered mediocre qb's are putting up huge numbers Rb's and lb's are meaningless and physical football is dead

QB play is actually better than it was 15 years ago.

If you dont find the game as entertaining that's fine...but coaches have adapted. Belichick isnt going to hand the ball off 40 times to "establish the run" when he knows that isnt productive.

Los Angeles C.A.
2010: 5 players threw for 4000 yards
7 more threw for 3500 or more

New rules make mediocre QB's look good and I said this back in 2012 that it would hurt.

fukkin Tannehill and Cousins threw for 4k :scust:

Oh and Bridgewater threw for 3231 so there was actually only one. I won't ever stop watching and truly only bytch about in threads like this (because most fans don't give a fukk) but it has watered down the product. Makes trash look like treasure but that's what the NFL always wanted. High scoring games that help bring parity to the league.

He has Brady im talking guys like Stafford and Bortles putting up numbers Montana never did

If you like arena league football cool I prefer more of a balance and some defense to be played not a league where only qb's matter

The teams that play defense are in the playoffs. The Jags defense sucked, so were forced to throw a lot.

Teams that play "defense" nowadays are still getting shredded through the air

Not really. Seattle, Denver, Carolina and Arizona are all very good against the pass.

Why is it a good thing?

Football is a complex game that has many facets. This trend makes the NFL (football at highest level) more one-dimensional. It's bad enough way more emphasis is placed on scoring that the defenses are faced with a huge handicap, but now the passing is getting skewed. As a result football is pushing more and more about qb and the rest, when the game is a team game about 22 men vs 22 men.

Why would anyone want to play an ILB nowadays? The pay is shyt, you're at a disadvantage most of the time (being on defense is already a disadvantage because of its reactive nature) , you're less popular than the qb even if you're elite and be isn't, and teams think you're replaceable enough.

The game is becoming a finesse far cry from the game I love. Maybe if you view football as pure entertainment and storyline bullshyt, its ok to you. It's not ok to me, I don't watch football for entertainment or bullshyt stories. I want to see a game played fairly. What I see is instead is pussification and penalize toon of football plays.

The whole concussion thing is a joke. Football is a physical sport. You will get hit hard. So is boxing. You will get hit hard. I'm fine with a qb or a high stature player being out for the year - that's how shyt is, football is physical. I don't care for clowns who watch for entertainment factor not getting entertained as a result of talent getting injured. Talented players getting injured is a part of the game of football. Trying to turn it into flag football is despicable.

Negativity (Kayfabe)
:scusthov:

in 2006 half the league (16 teams) had less than 3200 yards passing

13 teams in 2015 had over 4k yards passing
3 teams in 2006 had over 4k yards passing

:pacspit: national passing league
This why I barely care that the Saints had an historical bad defense. It hard to put it into historical context in the new state of affairs. I don't even care Drew passed Dan Marino in yards.

When you got nikkas like Brian Hoyer, Josh Mcclown, Old ass matt hassellback n them out here throwing for 200 or 300+ on any given night you know this shyt getting soft. This really a QB's league when you got backups and dudes who were out on the street days ago just tossing multiple TDs like it's nothing. So easy for offenses to keep drives alive with flags after every other play.

That said NFL brand fukkery is still top class entertainment

The receivers are carrying these qbs cause the dbs aren't allowed to do anything. But running teams win. So its whatever during the regular season but only a team with a good rushing attack will win the bowl most likely.
