One thing I don't like about the Marvel movies is the lame humor

There are times for quips but Marvel abuses it no doubt. Stark was bordering on being annoying at the end of Civil War for me.

But still when dealing with these characters i think you do them a disservice if you refuse to acknowledge the inherent silliness of it all.

batman is fukin stupid okay, he's stupid. he's a guy that dresses up like a fukkin bat and fights clowns and circus freaks. I'm not saying you can't tell a darker more nuanced story but you can't pretend this shyt is high drama!!!

This is just a silly thing to bytch about at this point. Its like every other movie that yall love and enjoy do the exact same shyt but if its Marvel its a problem.
FF we got cats close to death running from Russian soldiers on a frozen lake and a psycho chick trynna kill everyone "in the heat of battle" and "fighting for their lives" and they joking or no one feels like its taking away from those moments

All of QT movies have jokes...... EVERYONE

And I think its a little premature to start the "Oh thats why I love DC Movies because...." shyt BECAUSE its looking like their FUTURE movies gonna have these same jokes or something in line. SS had jokes or funny stuff (guy "in the heat of battle" "fighting for his life" takes time out to drink a soda) Justice League obviously gonna have jokes, Green Lantern had jokes, practically every DC movie going back to Reeves and Keaton had jokes and funny stuff.

Cats need to stop holding up the Nolan movies as a standard or example because I think thats more on Nolan than DC. When I thought about it, I dont think ANY of Nolan's movies every had jokes. Cant think of a funny moment in Memento, Inception, Prestige, Intersteller, The Following, Insomnia thats just really not his style overall and he's been consistent with that

there is one joke per movie that is so corny, it annoys me to no end. i find most of the "humor" tolerable and tonally appropriate, but there is one joke per that just sucks. I can't remember the Dr. Strange one, but hated "does anyone have any orange slices" in Civil War. it was a verbal fart.

It's definitely their weak point. Especially in Winter Soldier. Almost every joke lands with a thud.

Not really, at the end of the day they're action movies and TONS of action movies have quips and puns in them. The Bond Franchise, Fast and Furious, Mission Impossible, even the original Die Hard trilogy had McClain cracking jokes in the middle of dangerous situations.

Also forgot the Lethal Weapon series, those movies are full of jokes and puns.

i prefer my movies based off of comics meant for children to be filled with adult themes, gore and gratuitous violence

We're emo because we don't take these movies so seriously? When I want something serious I watch a documentary or a drama.
Dude these movies feature people in costume and capes fighting each other, right there any realism is ruined. It better be funny or it is some sad shyt if you take that seriously.

Nolan did something with a high degree of difficulty make a superhero movie that's serious but at the same time doesn't look silly doing that in the process. Kudos to him, but that takes special skills and is hard to do.
