Now that I had a night to sleep on it and think about it....

I dont think I have a problem with giving up a 1st Draft pick for Payton.

Wait let me finish

The way I see it.... 3 things.

1- As long as the Payton/Brees combo is allowed to exist in the NFC, the Saints to a degree are always a threat to be an elite credible team. Snatching Payton would be a significant blow and send them back for years to come. Thats one less team in our way back to the SB we'd have to deal with

2- Is there really a true big time player from this years draft this is a true "cant miss" type guy? I really dont think so and I dont think one draft season is gonna hurt us as I dont think there is any college player out there that or even theres a chance we'd have the luck or intelligence to draft thats gonna make us instant contenders in the next 1-3 years. Lets just get in a really good SB winning coach that can get in here, assess and fix things and have HIM go out to future draft compounds with our GM. Cuz yes I get when it comes down to it the GM may be the one making the pick. But I really dont get why cats dont think these picks be a joint and team effort between a GM and a coach. These guys normally work together, I really dont think the GM be on some "fukk that shyt, I get who I say we should get and you suck this dikk, shut the fukk up and accept it" shyt. I think with Payton and Baulk having some good discussion along with any scout that comes with Payton.... it will pay off greatly for the long run

3- I think Payton is another one of those coaches that players would really love to come play for and I think if he comes here, its gonna shine a new light on us. Historical franchise, great area, money cuz they under the cap, and a really good coach. It would instantly make this team attractive for a lot of FA

fukk it... I say barring getting rid of the few young elite players we have, I say we do whatevers reasonable to get him

Saints are in cap hell and are in nobody's way to making the playoffs

Panthers are more worried about jameis next year

how is everyone not excited to see kaep in chips offense? kaep was born to play that offense... ck is our only hope for a quick and dramatic turnaround
If you think Harbs had "personal conflict" with ownership and players "were tired of his system" chip is that times 10...no thanks. I don't know how you can be excited for a coach who clearly displayed he doesn't understand managing NFL talent/players. Secondly, his system is unsustainable for a defense...why even put our rebuilding defense in that position.

this team needs to toughen the fukk up, we play better when we have a demanding hc, versus a touchy feely one

Nothing wrong with a demanding coach but a coach who players don't respect is a whole other issue. Furthermore chip's system is not sustainable in the NFL, no clue why you're such a big fanboy of his.
