The Yay
Darren McFadden had about as many yards as all our RB's with 1089:scust:

Oh yea.... and we had 10 :damn:
lets put it this way...if youre behind a ton in the second half (and even moreso in first half), you usually abandon the run. especially if your defense just keeps on giving :manny:

we averaged 130 rush yards per game in our wins
we averaged 86 rush yards per game in our losses
we averaged 64 rush yards per game in 14+ point losses

its not exactly rocket science...the more defense keeps you in the game the more you run the ball.

Fair enough.... but lets put it this way too.....

Probably wouldnt be behind a ton in the second half (and even moreso in first half) if when you do run you can get about 4 yards per carry and convert 2nd and 3rd downs. But I bet it would be easy if you had a strong Oline that can help create the holes or space to do so and for GAWD SAKES protect you so you dont get hurt.

Its not rocket science... the better the running game the better and easier the passing game can be too

thats a lot of ifs, but yes these things are interconnected. however if defense gives up a lot of points theres not much the offense can do really.

my point is, our defense was ass last year. our oline was ass. our qbs were pretty shytty. hyde was decent before he went down and draughn has shown some flashes. I think RBs are one of our biggest strength right now. the oline should help immensely, I agree

the problem is when a team is playing big time catchup, the rbs usually get taken out of the question

I think with pass rushers..... That's an instant impact on our D

It's one thing to be blitzed the moment you hike the ball like our QBs

And it's another to have a offense have like 8-25 seconds to just sit and the pocket and survey the field like too many QBs did to us

So lets start with the WINS

The Rams.... I honestly think we are better than them.... I dont give fukk!!!

Dallas is Dallas... all bark no bite.... dont see them significantly better

Buffalo is a decent team but they are no world beaters

Buccs.... I can see this being a tough game but I can see us pulling out a win in a close one

Saints are done, probably the worst team in that division

Dolphins...... could probably go either way but again.... no world beaters... believe we could pull out a close one

Bears??? Please give me a fukkING BREAK!!! We dont even have to beat them they'll probably give us the game. I mean far all the talk of how trash we supposed to be, they couldnt even beat this TRASH team last year! And we improved, they didnt.

Jets... I believe they gonna have too much fukkery there, they dont have a QB on they roster better than our 2...

Falcons... JJones will be hard to contain.... but I think we could shock them
___________________________________________________________________________

Thats 8 right there

After that, my predictions.... I have a strong feeling we aint getting swept by Hawks or Cards

I wouldnt be shocked if we go 3-3 in our division
9 wins at worst? :dahell:

We go 2-4 in the division, Arizona or Seattle are handing us two L's

Romo's annual injury won't happen til week 5/6/7 right after the girls think they have a shot, so that's an L

Bills, NO, Bears are wins in my book

NYJ and the dolphins could go either way, but I see miami getting the W, and Jets taking the L

6-10 is my bet for our ceiling, 4-12 for our floor

this is extremely close to what I have, I think 4 wins is absolute floor, 7 wins absolute ceiling

My bad..... I thought a retiring Armstead with a hungry motivated Buckner would be a difference....

Guess neither of them are playing this year or will be bust:mjcry:

Linebackers

Inside Linebackers

Navarro Bowman - Despite having severe injuries to both his knees. He has still shown he's one of the best in the league. He lad the league in tackles last year, and he even though he last lost alot of his explosiveness he takes excellent angles and is still a factor in coverage, which speaks to his massive football IQ. He's in the prime of his career, but with the way football players are retiring younger and younger, we may only have a few good years left with him. Let's enjoy it.

Grade: A-

Michael Wilhoite - A middle of the road veteran linebacker. He just got another one year deal to play with us, likely being the bridge player before we get a guy either in the draft or free agency that can be a quality starter. He's not great but he is a good run stopper and knows the system.

Grade: C+

Gerald Hodges - Albeit undersized, Hodges is a really good tackler and could be in the mix to become the second ILB on the team. He's also much less of a liability in coverarge than Michael Wilhoite. Worst case scenario, he'll be a special teamer.

Grade: C+

Nick Bellore - A big bidy and a strong tackler, he's not athletic enough to run in our fast paced defense. But he does play special teams and that's what he'll be used for.

Grade: C-

Aravious 'Ray Ray' Armstrong - A standout player in high school and a good albeit troubled player in college, he is given a chance to contribute significantly here as a special teams player. That's the only way he stays on the team.

Grade: D-

Outside Linebackers

Aaron Lynch - A very talented knucklehead, much like his former teammate Aldon Smith. He dropped to the 5th round in part due to character issues and I thought he could keep his head on straight in Frisco. But he's suspended the first four games of the season for drug related infractions. Despite this he's the best pure pass rusher on the team even if he needs to a better tackler against the run. I hope this is just a one time thing and not something trending, as we're going to need him to be part of the team's future on defense.

Grade: B+

Ahmad Brooks - A 10 year veteran, we lucked out and ended up getting a gem in Brooks, a starter his whole time here with us (if I'm not mistaken), he actually had one of his best years getting 6.5 sacks. Even though he has caused some penalties for the team (some his fault, some not). The front office knows he's one of the better all around linebackers in the league with a team friendly contract. They may trade him but even then that doesn't make much sense, since he is one of the few veteran presences left on the team and is more valuable than the 4th or 5th rounder we may get for him.

Grade: B

Eli Harold - Very raw player last year, even though he has shown flashes of elite athleticism. Apparently he's put on about 20 'good' ponds and is going to be more effective at the point of attack. We're going to find more snaps for him this year, because he brings an intensity that few can match, he just has to keep working on his technique since he takes a few bad angles here and there.

Grade: B-

Corey Lemonier - Aaron Lynch's suspension may have saved his career. Drafted in the 3rd round, I expected him to be at least a capable backup, but he has been nothing but a disappointment. He seems to have this spaced out look on his face on the sidelines, and has no will to improve. That beind said he is a good special teams player so there's that.

Grade: C-

Jason Fanaika - A practice squad prospect that will probably spend the season in the weight room and track getting NFL ready. He does have some physical talent though and could develop into a solid backup

Grade: D-

Lenny Jones - A 24 year old rookie who is also converting into an OLB. He is going to a camp body and may make the practice squad

Marcus Rush - Another practice squad player, although he may have enough talent to be picked up by another team if released. He is workout warrior even if it doesn't show on the field.

Grade: F

Wynton McManis - A young hopeful LB that will attempt to make the practice squad.

Grade: F

Shayne Skov - I had hopes for him when we picked him up as an UDFA, I liked him at Stanford, but I expect he'll be a camp body, nothing more.

Grade: F

Unit Analysis: Navarro Bowman and Ahmad Brooks are our best players but Gerald Hodges is a good addition and we do have a lot of youth that could grow with good coaching. I mean we're rebuilding so it is what it is, but all in all this will probably be our most productive unit relative to everyone else.

Unit Grade: B-
