Family reunions all fukked up nowadays. Step parenting and adopting a whole new family that isn't biologically related to yours is nuts.

Its bad enough that some brehs have to play step daddy. But the pain gets 1000x worse when the breh's step kids become parents of their own and those brehs have to be step-GRANDfathers. It hurts to see some bum dude get to have biological grandchildren, when the good breh that took care of business doesn't get that blessing of having biological grandchildren of their own.

I seen that happen too many times. Its like, the good dude's genetic code isn't good enough for grandchildren down the line, but some random dude gets his blessings by grandchildren of their own.

I think more black boys need to be groomed to stick around and be in the home of the kids they helped make. The biological fathers need to be involved in their kids life—and seeing that we have a big problem with that not taking place across our community I think that’s perhaps even more concerning.

I do think this next gen probably won’t be as likely to take on the role of a step parent or even have kids altogether. I say that because the marriage is already incredibly low among bw and bm, compared to other groups and the direction it’s trending in is that will be even lower over time. Thus I see less marriages and less step dads in the future. The plus is that the OOW rate is going down too, so less single moms and children that look to their step dads as fathers.

Breh please start posting this every time we see threads talking about fatherless children. People always assume that every single mother (not married) is raising the child all on her own, without the father there, and on this site especially it’s pushed. But these stats show that even if a lot of black children are born to single moms/OOW that doesn’t mean they aren’t living with their fathers(just means that in some cases the parents aren’t married, based on your stats though we have the lowest marriage rate we have a high cohabitation rate that may explain somethings) or that their fathers aren’t involved.
