Chris Rock & Eddie Murphy might not even the funniest comedian in their own families... if I'm keeping it 100.My top 5 (black) comedians:
1)Richard Prior
2)Martin Lawrence
3)Dave Chappelle
4)Patrice O'Neil
5)Rod Man
Its OGs like Eddie and Bernie and higher profile new acts like Kevin Hart and Kat Williams that get more accolades, but I'm just going by who I think is funniest.

Richard Pryor gotta go. I never found him funny expect for his appearance in "Hear no Evil, See no Evil"
His act was basically throwing out curse words, and saying nikka in front of white people. And all the shyt he "Pioneered", Redd Foxx did it first

I love Chris Rock's standup..he kills at it but literally 98% of his movies are TRASH. the only exceptions being CB4, Grown-Ups, and Top 5. Everybody Hates Chris was a good show though. Never really saw the one he had on HBO.
Pryor is the G.O.A.T, hands down.
Just about everything Eddie has done after Life has been trash but before then he was Kobe to Pryor's Jordan.
Chappelle is probably the least funny standup comedian of the four but the stuff he put together for his show was pure comedic ether. Ingenious.
I might have to go with Rock. He has greatest amount of stuff that I just can't watch out of the four.

Consider that I'm talking about currently, not alltime. So for example 90% of Eddie Murphy's career he was funnier than Charlie. But right now in 2015, you would rather watch Eddie than Charlie? Most people don't know who Tony is, so I can set that asside... I don't think ppl have seen enough of him.
But Eddie is like Method Man.
He was the star for a long time... but in 2015 he isn't in top 3 Wu.
Thats just being real.
Still legends tho.
Pryor and Murphy are legends, so instant ban for the kids that voted for them. Rock/Chappelle seemed hard at first but it boils down to access. Chappelle was able to put out more material and develop a connection through his successful show. The only access we have to Rock are the 1 hour specials he does every few years and the occasional movie.
