i just do not want this on my desktop.

i do love live tiles, though. i have a windows phone and i dont think i can ever go without having live info on how many emails and messages i have. even the ESPN app gives you scores in the live tile

Yup. the shyt is really next level. My live tiles provide me with so much information its not even funny. From facebook updates, to Sportscores from my favorite teams, to weather updates, to my stocks, its just too slick to ignore. I doubt ill use another phone anytime soon.

Download the Splashtop 2 app. Get the streamer your Windows 8 PC, run the app, put it on Windows 8 gestures for mouse control...

You can basically turn your tablet/phone into a remote for your PC. You also can get the touch controls right there on your tablet as it's acting as a screen for your PC. shyt is nice. Only thing I'm not feeling is how the Splashtop app on the PC doesn't support widescreen and puts the PC's display in a 4:3 ratio

Just got an SSD and installed Windows 8

Upgraded from an HDD with Vista

This shyt is not at all difficult to figure out. I just started messing with it a few hours ago and I'm feeling comfortable with it.

This shyt is really next level. Loving the slick transitions from Windows 8 to desktop mode.

It really runs amazing on my desktop. Not as smooth on the Surface but solid enough.

This shyt is so damn half baked. I run a few WINDOWS updates and now my metro apps won't open? Don't use this laptop for anything other than browsing the Coli, so I know I didn't do anything wrong.

Will definitely be returning to Windows 7 until they get SP1 out.

That's weird I've updated my metro apps open fine, only issue I have with the live tiles is they themselves are never up to date, mainly the email and people one, then when they do notify me and I check them the notifications never go away til days later

That shyt is true. They are horribly inefficient in terms of notification.

I'm never in the start screen that long so the live tiles aren't an issue for me.

I wish there was an easier way to get album art in the Xbox Music Player that you have to get from the web. Some stuff I have isn't being found by the player's art grabber and I don't know how to get the covers otherwise.

I'm about to throw this Xbox Music player in the bushes. Why is it so hard to organize shyt with this? I can't just simply add album covers that I download to my shyt? I know it has the match information option, but some stuff doesn't match because it's underground. Which music players are you using? The Xbox app looks decent but it's lacking functionality wise on there.

For example, I just loaded an album on there. I picked the option to match album details and it threw the songs all out of order. I try to rearrange the order and it's not letting me. Why can't I do something that simple on this shyt?

man just off the name alone i didnt even touch that shyt, why couldnt they have called it Windows 8 music player or something and just offered it as a app on the xbox

Only cloud music service i trust is google music, simple and efficient


Overall i been using windows 8 since like early October and i have to say unless you have a touch screen pc or one of those hybrid laptops the metro UI is pretty useless , the app selection is i have one app downloaded from there its a youtube app but just logging into youtube is better, the windows app that come pre installled and are metro tiles never update themselves and dont even get me started on the skype app that doesnt work.

Again overall i cant complain about it its done no harm to my non touch screen computer but the ONLY benefit to me since installing windows 8 is the start is quicker by a couple of seconds.
