Survival of the fittest
ONE OF THE MOST OVERRATED
ALBUMS IN HIP HOP.

NOT A TOP 3 JAY ALBUM.
You really think he has 3 albums better than this?:dwillhuh:

Great album that was appreciated much later

but in 1996 nobody heard of Jay Z until Tupac dissed him on Makaveli
This is just outright hatred and lies:skip:
Ain't No nikka was a huge summer single, stayed on the radio and MTV/BET/The Box.
You trying to say RD went gold in 96 off the strength of a Pac diss on an album released in November?:childplease:

Most forced masterpiece in hip hop history.

Very good album but it was just another dope album in 96. Mightnt make my top 10 that year.

Didn't change the game in any meaningful way.

Couple of filler joints on there too.

All of this

one of the bigger underlying legacies of this album is solidifying the credibility of the Roc-A-Fella street teams & staff as one of the best and most iconic to date - just ask many of the key players from Lenny, Chaka, TyTy, B-High, Hip Hop, Bobby Dash, and many-a-more. Their way of flooding all channels with Roc-A-Fella content - from Hot 97 to the Palladium & Tunnel - remains epic to this date.

You can even see it today with the amount of leverage Roc Nation and all associated brands have in any sort of business deals.
