Jadakiss discography - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Do you really think an album that went Gold in a month hasn't gone Platinum 15 years later?

Answer these hypothetical match-ups do you really think...
'96 Bun B would beat an '06 Lil Wayne in a one-on-one cypher?

'95 Raekwon would beat '07 Joe Budden in a one-on-one cypher?

J.R. Writer may not be a better artist or song crafter than a lot of 90's rappers but pure spit he's better than most.

I'm not a huge Lupe fan but as a technical lyricist and pure spitter he's better than a ton of 90's acts.

Drop your 25 I'm curious... :manny:

even with that said jadakiss KTGG wiki page says what i been telling yall nikkaz (that album us only gold )

Kiss tha Game Goodbye is the debut studio album by American rapper Jadakiss. The album was released on August 7, 2001, by Ruff Ryders Entertainment and Interscope Records. The album sold 204,000 units in its first week.[10] It was certified Gold by the RIAA on September 21, 2001.[11] As of June 2004, the album has sold 877,000 copies.[10]

wayne 00's >>> bun B 90's
rea 90's >>> buddens 00's

jr writer as a spitter/not a good artist is nothing but a poor mans version of canibus

:lupe: is nothing more than the average tree chewing, incense burning, back packing 90's underground rapper

thats not was i was saying.. and i know he's a 90s rapper.. if you read the thread you will see ow much of a 90s advocate i was/am...

I did that because people was having a hard time classifying where to put those artists .. so i said EF it .. just compare them to themselves

Stop with the mental gymnastics Wikipedia has references. If it sold 850,000 copies as of 2004 you don't think it passed a million by 2016 c'mon man.

I disagree with Raekwon beating Budden. Budden is eating those pyrex vision geography bars from Raekwon. Buddens diss records are crazy, almost took down Hollow in a battle, in general just a better pure spitter with better wordplay and a guy who thrives at freestyling and in cypher settings.

Writer don't rap like Canibus :what:

How about we make a top 10 list of the best spitters from the 90's and 00's...

if we just base it off the frontline, i'd give it to the '90s.

they were more top-heavy with the spitters. but the '00s was DEEP with the spittage - no pun intended. and I bet 95% of yall aint catch the pun......which furthers my point.

Have we come up with a rule for which decade a rapper is from yet? :tochilol:
I say just go by the debut album. Either group or solo.
So Face and Cube are 80s rappers. Jay is a 90s rapper.
Cormega is a 2000s rapper.
Lox and Cam is 90s.
Fab is 2000s.
Em is 90s.

Also, how exactly are we judging this? I mean if we taking straight spitting, I'd put Pharoah Monch over Pac, but as a whole Pac is one of the GOATs. So what about that?

I put it like this. class of 2002. if you didn't make your true mark before I started high school, i don't classify you as a '90s rapper. unless you came & went. PAUSE.

yea str8 spittin. pharaoh monche trumps 2pac in this thread by leaps & bounds.

The debut album thing should work for most, with some exceptions (like Lil Wayne).

As far as the Pac thing, I think this thread is going for more lyrical prowess, acrobatics, and skill than overall package as an artist (quality of albums, etc.) I could be wrong tho? @Wacky D

that's what I'm saying.

the lox & cam are in the same boat as wayne.

wayne even had to pattern his style after major figgas(a group whose major label debut came in 2000) and dipset(a crew headed by Camron himself). all in order to blow up when the 2000s decade itself was halfway through. but yet, hes supposed to be a '90s rapper.

and yes this thread is about str8 emceeing. lyrics as well as flow & mic presence.

How about multiple decade artists compete against themselves ...
96-99 lox vs 00 lox
97-99 fab vs 00 fab vs 10s fab

etc

and whoever wins, takes full control of said rappers' legacy.

I'm all for it.

2000s wins everyone of these debates.

that's sounds like it calls for its own separate 20 page thread, where I list my 100 or something.

go head and drop ya top 25 b.

I'm about to get in my bag soon enough.

So the 2000's can't have the L.O.X., Fabolous, Cam'ron on their roster...
I don't have a dog in this fight at all. None of these brehs would make a 90s list for me.
But Kool G Rap is a 90's rapper...
Cube is a 90's rapper...
Jay is a 90's rapper...
Scarface is a 90's rapper...
K-Rino is a 90's rapper...
Bun B is a 90's rapper...
I didn't say G Rap. But I'll hold my L for saying Face and Cube. How is Bun B an 80s rapper?
Jay is on Jaz-O songs in the 80's, has freestyle footage from the 80's, was an opening act for Big Daddy Kane in the 80's. Is he an 80's rapper? Shyt, if y'all claiming Fab.
:russ:Jay ain't an 80s rapper breh.
is thread is about pure spitting, breh. I'm not sure why you mention Laffy Taffy and Soulja Boy when the South had spitters. T.I., Pusha T, Lil Wayne, Phonte, Ludacris, Rick Ross, Chamillionaire, Jay Electronica, etc.
You right.
Do you really think '96 Bun B is outrapping '06 Lil Wayne
Not a huge fan of Bun, but yes.
Do you think Raekwon is seeing Joe Budden
Smuddens? :scust:

Fab is taking down a lot of these 90's rappers...
