to the women: the reason women tend to think they give clear signals is because women will act different around guys they like. the problem is, how would he know you're acting different from usual if he doesn't know you?what may be obvious to you might be usual for him. for example, you may think a smile and saying hi is SUPER OBVIOUS but depending on his culture, experiences and personal history of interaction with women, maybe strangers say hi to him all the time without meaning anything by it. so it wouldn't be obvious to him.
