i hate woods, Waaaaaaay too strong. Like smoking weed and a Blacc at the same time
As far as I know it started in Brooklyn from some rastas who was trying to get off crack pipe(so they claim). I know the first time I saw someone smoking weed in a cigar instead of papers was in 1986 or around that time. Then I heard Big Daddy Kane say "i smoke you up like a blunt" in the raw song, so it all made sense.
Blunts came from people using "Phillie blunts", that came in the late 80's. Before that people used el producto's, that's why you used to hear people say "light another el" or "spark that el".

People smoked joints UNTIL Cypress Hill got people to smoke blunts in 1991, and they porbably got the idea from DJ muggs who is from NYC, before that only NYC was on blunts., going back to the mid 80's
From el productos to Phillies, white owls, dutchmasters, and more. I used to pay $.25 for a phillie or dutch, then it went to $.50. Then I just bought packs of backwoods for $2, which we started as well. Only Brooklyn nikkas was smoking backwoods. I started backwoods in 1996. Then I just went onto fronto since it was just $1, and more fresh. Then I said fukk all that tobacco, and went to papers, pipes then bongs, now vaporizers.
