You could play Boyz 2 Men at school dances, and pretty much every dance recital and cheerleading team was using Motown Philly.

Different eras though. Boys II Men were most popular at the beginning of the 90s. All those folks you mentioned were closer to the mid 90s when more raunchy stuff started getting more mainstream

I respect both acts but I always preferred Jodeci, B2M were bigger and that's a fact.

With his talent and the talent under his wing DeVante should have been a bigger force but sadly he went off the rails.

Boyz II Men helped created the formula for the modern boy band. Back Street/Nsync all ate well after listening to that II album.

Forest Whitaker hired that man to write every song on the Waiting To Exhale soundtrack. Only song on there that wasn't his was Funny Valentine because it was a cover. He knew he couldn't have tapped anybody else. Soundtrack is a banger head to toe and I'd put How Could You Call Her Baby up against damn near anybody's writing. Even though the young lady they tapped to sing it fell off the face of the Earth afterwards.

Face is a legend. But most of his production was saccharine and sounded like east listening R&B for white people. I’m taking Devante over him all day. And Jodeci over B2M even though Boyz were way bigger
