It went from rapper looking to get on a song with pop acts to blow up to pop acts looking to get a rapper on their song to blow up. Black music became the dominant go to form. Add to that that technology and formats changed. It was a totally different world in the early 90s and before.Boyz II men had way more crossover appeal.
