nikka you dont believe them when they sing On Bended Knee
Wonderful harmony, love the key changes, tempo, and lyrics but doesn't move me...maybe I'm jaded...
I don't think these dudes actually listen to much Boyz II Men, and are making assumptions off the "Singles" released.
I'm both a fan of Jodeci and Boyz II Men.
There are even cats in here claiming the B2M "Made Music For White People", which is some silly shyt.
I like Jodeci, but they ARE NOT FUKKIN with Boyz II Men, vocally PERIOD!
K-Ci has a more "Rugged" sound, which I think a lot of Dudes (and some Females) like more.
But Wanya, would SING CIRCLES around K-Ci, he has WAY more Range.
JoJo is the ONLY other singer in Jodeci, and he is "Just OK" as a vocalist.
There are some Jodeci songs I like better than some B2M songs, and VICE-VERSA.
But this "They Sing For White People", Bullshyt is FALSE.
Boyz II Men, started off with the "New Jack Swing" sound, which is BLACK MUSIC.
BOTH Boyz II Men, and Jodeci were musically inspired by Gospel Music,
ESPECIALLY from the group COMMISSIONED.
Both started with New Jack Swing but once that genre quickly died, B2M switched over to mostly quiet storm/contemporary R&B/easy listening radio-friendly pieces playing with puppies in Mariah Carey's music video...
Jodeci stayed with the Black-oriented R&B sound and fell apart due to Jodeci's personal problems.
As a musician, I appreciate and admire their skills but as a listener, they get skipped on my playlist because I don't want to fall asleep while driving or on the train..They are what Kenny G is to Jazz music...sounds wonderful but lacks any emotional resonance...
