Jodeci are some bad boys, but B2M is a far superior collection of singers.
And also, Devante is not a better producer than Babyface.

nikkas got on long shurlins and and timbs with pimp canes Jodeci wore leather vests and and hi tek boots in the desert.
Jodeci had more soul and church/funk production style where B2M had the very bland, pop, but extremely technical sound with their production...
As much as I am a Devante Swing stan and modeled my piano playing style after him, Babyface has him beat, along with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis...
But definitely a heavyweight producer in that era...
B2M just had the formula and didn't stray from it which led them to mass-crossover appeal with strong management in their corner.
Without that, they'd be just another Shai or Silk (the better group anyway)..

I would have liked them stay with the Dallas Austin sound a little longer rather than go Babyface/ballad heavy after End of Road blew up
Nate even said on a podcast he wish they would have had more creative control and in house writing on their second album

B2M singing ws so good it had universal appeal You could put those cats in the middle of Nepal and people who never heard about them will be in awe. JODECI, you needed to already love that type of sound.
They should've mixed the two at least.

I agree that they should have done more work with Dallas Austin but they often omit from their interviews they were a$$holes to Dallas and Babyface on the 2nd album which dissolved their relationship with Austin.
Boyz II Men is the safe choice, tame, timid, proper, I suppose for a general audience but they lack any soul to their sound.
Just like the Doo Wop singers of the past, great singers but just corny imho...

Based on the stats and continued relevancy, B2M still got it..
Who knows where Jodeci would be had it not been for Suge Knight...
