Netflix
HBO Max
Disney+
Amazon Prime

I’ve started using Netflix less and less this year, they really haven’t been catching me with originals and their movie lineup has gotten worse. Some of it I’ll charge to COVID. HBO Max on the other hand is delivering on both things that I feel like Netflix are slipping on, especially in the movie category. I’ve used Max much more than Netflix since the end of the summer. The only reason Max is 2 is because I gotta give Netflix credit for everything they’ve delivered in the past.

Disney+ I don’t use much but just The Mandalorian alone puts it in the third spot. Prime ive never really used much, they could be higher if I finally stopped procrastinating and checked out their originals. I let HULU go but if I had it I’d put it over Prime.

You don’t Netflix is king image wise? I have what I believe is a Sony 950x and original programming like Queen’s Gambit just looks way better than anything else
I don't have the Netflix's 4K option breh. Amazon and Disney+ stream 4K UHD without upcharging

I have amazon prime but what is there to actually watch on this? The original shows I've heard of a couple of them with some decent reviews but I don't feel like there's a lot of content on this.
The Boys is a top tier show. Special effects are better than anything I've seen on Netflix.

I also think Prime Video's catalog is hindered by it's barebones basic interface. If they curated their shyt better, people would find a lot more to checkout than how it currently's constructed
I tried it during a trial of Prime I had and the interface was so bad, I was wondering if a proper one was locked behind a full subscription. :mindblown:

Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
1. Netflix. Best content
2. HBO Max
3. Disney Plus. Primarily for access to the Marvel cartoons from the 90s and early 2000s. Once they add more content from 20th Century Fox then I might rate it higher.
4. Amazon Prime
5. Hulu

I honestly don't even really deal with Prime outside of The Boys and I can't really remember the last time I watched anything on Hulu. I get Hulu for free with Spotify and I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon so Prime is worth it for me.

:patrice: hbo max hard for y'all to use?
I will admit that how they have the watchlist set up on the TV apps (I assume it’s the same across the different devices) is awful and makes that specific feature borderline useless. Though I haven’t used the app much because I just got my brother’s login and only watched like one thing on there.

Prime had my favorite show (The Boys) and movie (Sound of Metal) this year. You should check them both out.

their Blumhouse originals were also decent (Black Box, Evil Eye)

I’m also hearing Steve McQueen’s anthology series about racism in the UK (Small Axe) was really good though I haven’t watched them yet

And that Regina King movie One Night in Miami (about Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Sam Cooke and Jim Brown) is coming out on Christmas Day I believe

I find Prime doesn’t have the quantity of the other streaming apps but the actual quality is a level above all of them besides hbo max. Normally when I watch a Netflix movie I’m like “eh, that was good for a Netflix flick.” Normally when I watch an Amazon movie I’m like “that was actually a good movie”
Amazon seems to have the biggest and best selection of licensed movies between the big three of Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.Original content as far as TV shows go is pretty lacking in quantity but there is some good stuff like The Boys, Man in the High Castle, Red Oaks, Upload

Is there a difference between HBO Original stuff and Max Original besides like distribution? Are they signalling a different type of aesthetic with the different labels or is it just the Max Originals are for the streamer only and not for HBO cable?

Max originals are just streaming. They still seem to be high quality stuff.

Disney + in combo with Hulu is on a great subscriber tragectory.

The Ringer: Disney Is Taking a Victory Lap in the Streaming Wars.
Disney Is Taking a Victory Lap in the Streaming Wars

Per the numbers touted on Thursday, Disney+ alone is up to 86 million subscribers—already dwarfing Hulu’s near 39 million subscribers after just a year-plus on the market. Both figures eclipse HBO Max’s relatively paltry 12.6 million, a number WarnerMedia and parent company AT&T hope to juice by making everything from Wonder Woman 1984 to Dune immediately available on Max. And those numbers are set to get only bigger: Disney has already surpassed expectations, and upwardly revised its five-year forecast for Disney+ to between 230 and 260 million subscribers by 2024.
In other words, Disney is cementing a comfortable advantage more than it’s trying to get a leg up. Its 137 million subscribers across all streaming platforms, which include Hulu and ESPN as well as Disney+, doesn’t quite match Netflix’s 195 million worldwide, but that number is growing at a faster rate, narrowing the gap by the day. Taken as a whole, Investor Day’s announcements don’t constitute a major shift in strategy. They’re simply a scaling up of one that’s already working.

Didn't know it was doing that well. Mandolorian is holding them the Fukk down. 2021 when they ramp up the content is gonna be interesting.
