Personally, if that's what their trying to do they are "succeeding" at it. I wouldn't mind if 2K was able to get out from the WWE franchise being that out of all the games they made so far, 2K16 & 2K19 have been the peak points of the series. I stopped buying NBA 2K b/c they got so complacent with the games.
At this point a new publisher needs to take over the WWE games and try to come up with new ideas/concepts b/c a lot of the stuff like universe mode still has that THQ imprint on it.
It's bad enough the weekly TV shows and most PPVs are trash (outside of NXT & Takeover) we don't need bad video games either.
At least they finally fixed the crimson mask where wrestlers look like they fell faced first in red shyt

I don't even want to think about that.... I don't know what the future of WWE games are going to be like but it ain't looking good... THQ going out of business was the worse thing for WWE games.

As terrible as EA is, there really isn’t much they could do to make it worse than 2K has beyond cutting shyt like arenas out of the game to sell back to us as cut content DLC. Gameplay is dull and feels dated, there’s a lot of arena graphics for matchup screens and entrances missing, missing characters and alternate attires that should be there, missing old titantron and themes they should have, and the game releases unfinished every year too.

Ya'll are going too far now, EA is the worst company to go to and Madden is proof of that. Frustration is one thing but don't let your feelings cloud your judgement, VC fukked up but they're still much better than EA who hasn't done anything right since Madden 06.
It's funny how hindsight works because people couldn't wait for the WWE to get away from THQ, because they felt like the games were just the same shyt every year. Before they left Yukes was starting to show it's age with 08-10 WWE 12 & Yukes was also responsible for the God awful 2k18. This game may be the worst of the worst but SVR 08 & WWE 12 hold the tie for that title as of right now. I'm not going to judge the game too harshly until I see what they do with the patches, but if it's another 2k18 situation then it'll deserve every piece of hate it receives. I'm disappointed because it looks like I'll be 0-3 because Madden 20 and NBA 2k20 are both absolute duds.

Don’t get me wrong, I know exactly how bad EA is and I wouldn’t trust them for a moment. They’ve twice been voted worst company in the country for a reason. I’m just making the point that this series has been terrible in so many ways for nearly a decade already.

That's the thing though, they finally got it right with 2k19 but instead of keeping it going in that direction they switched shyt up just to be different. When they hit they really hit, but when they miss it's a fukking disaster. If you take go by when VC officially joined Yukes then the hits and misses are
Hits - 2k16 & 2k19
Misses - 2k15, 2k17, 2k18
I keep seeing people on YT say that they get that this was the first game without Yukes involvement, but that's no excuse because they still have the tech there to just build upon what was already put in place. I think 2K & VC have slowly become EA & Frostbite, because NBA 2K is no longer a must play game and to have such a huge drop off from WWE 2k19 to WWE 2k20 is very alarming. Usually a bad WWE game can be saved by a feature that covers for the rest of the bullshyt. WWE 2k15 was terrible but the fact that it had the ruthless aggression era in it saved it from being completely unplayable, I'm just not sure yet what 2k20 is going to have that'll keep it from being weed plate status.

One thing that i've begged for and they have yet to implement is a heat meter, CAWs have the worst crowd reactions and a loud crowd can make the game fun. If anyone here has ever played WCW Mayhem then you know that while the game was crap the crowd was amazing.
2K19 really was like 2K14 huh as far as it being polished? I thought about copping since the last 2K game I got was 17 which was meh. I just want a legit wrestling game to outshine FPW and that's current gen without the friggin glitches

I think 2k15, 2k17-18 weren't the best installments of the series. I think '¹5 & '17 are the worst and the crappy DLC pack from '18. NBA2K just got complacent which is why I stopped buying on day 1. Just wait until it hits $20.
THQ made fun games in the beginning with the early Smackdown series but they started slipping with the SvR games. Models were looking damn near cartoonish and we're taking stuff out of the games. THQ went out on a high note with 2k14 though.
I'm not saying let EA takeover WWE games but maybe it's time to find different developers or only release a new game every other year.

That's the way I would go, because there aren't enough changes being made to warrant a yearly release. I agree that the SVR games started the decline but SVR 06 is still one of the GOATS. 2k14 was perfect except we got another shytty Hollywood Rock, I swear only HCTP was able to do him justice because every other game just makes him regular Rock with a buzz cut. When I saw them recreate Randy Savage's promo in the Wrestlemania showcase mode that was legit
