shyt Berenthal has time to do multiple seasons as well. I think all these actors big and small don't mind having a hit show to film four months out of the year along with their other projects. That's easy millions plus they raise-negotiate bigger salaries after a new season is added and announced.
Yeah they say top actors take pay cuts for HBO projects because it raises their overall asking price.

Great first ep. Makes me wanna look up all this shyt to see what went down but I’m gonna hold off until the shows done.

Bernthal delivered as usual and always dope to see the wire alumni on the screen.

man it was hard for me to take some of these cops serious. I just see O dog and Poot. Marlo was more convincing but he's actually a good actor. I guess we'll see how it plays out. But man that nikka O Dog especially...do not look a cop at all.

I read about this when the indictments were unsealed in 2017, read all the in depth pieces about "Superman", and the guys they robbed, watched first episode last night, it's impressive. A smart show, something of an insider show, that feels very adult, and intelligent, there's an offhand, blink and miss it, reference to Vanita Gupta, (Justice Department Civil Rights Division head under Obama Admin, and now reruned) which is just not something you see on many TV shows, from any streaming service.

As well as pretty much getting all the street material right, or accurate enough.

I prefer one season I think, and when the source material is true, shows can go off the rails after the writers have no more structure to base the plots on. After the indictments, the trials, maybe, there is just no more material. All the key players have been taken off the board.

Why are people asking how or why this can't be multiple seasons?

The show is based on true events and it's based in the recent past. If they "continued" the story, they'd be making up the lives of real people...
The way they are looking at it, they need to slow the show down so that it can be multiple seasons.

But ppl only love the Wire in retrospect, that aint gonna work
