I agree but theres way too much shyt that happened to condense it down to 6 episodes

they're gonna have to skip/breeze through alot of shyt

it can still be good but this has potential to be a classic if the tell the full story
I think Simon doesn’t care to do longer series, wouldn’t blame with the way HBO kept fukking with The Wire during its run. I’d love to see him and his team do something akin to the wire just once more before they call it quits. They’ve created great series since but for me nothing seems to touch it.
That's more HBO tbh
Think that’s more so Alexa Fogel, she been with the production for a minute. Since The Corner iirc, I love how they look out for their past actors also recruiting everyday people for whatever roles as well. Makes it more authentic and shows how so many people got acting chops

Think it's a matter of how much time he thinks the story needs.

He did the Deuce for 3 seasons but had it planned that it would be that long and knowing what he wanted to show in each season.

The way they are looking at it, they need to slow the show down so that it can be multiple seasons.

But ppl only love the Wire in retrospect, that aint gonna work

This show goes back to around 2015 with most of it taking place in 2017 and Hersl (the cop harassing Slim Charles)...

... went to jail in 2018

How slow do people want the show to go?

It's a mini-series. Just like The Corner and Show Me a Hero were mini-series'.

People need to enjoy the 6 episodes and feel happy we're back in a familiar place in the hands of great storytellers.

Why are people asking how or why this can't be multiple seasons?

The show is based on true events and it's based in the recent past. If they "continued" the story, they'd be making up the lives of real people...
and if it's based off a book, they gotta stay true to the book. Otherwise it winds up like Fresh Off The Boat where they got 6 seasons but it strayed so far off the source material that Eddie Huang wanted nothing to do with the show anymore.

That first scene is one of the reasons that the jail gangs has a hold on the streets O’Malley and Ed Norris was just locking up people for Anything that wouldn’t stick in court

Digging the show but I think they jumping back and forth through time a bit too much. I could see people being confused.
If they paying attention(not in they phones), they should be good.
Everytime they go back, they do the lil case write up on the computer and shows what time they goin to.

Looks like we got like 3ish timelines?

03-05 - Showing Beranthal being made/just starting out
15ish - When the Gun Task Force gets taken down/ Hersl
17ish - Sorta the current timeline with Gonzo in the interrogation room

Yeah, I am following it but I did initially think from Episode 1 Jamie Hector's (Marlo) story was in the most recent storyline. But it seems it is in the middle timeline since we see G Money operating freely In the police car garage in ep 2.
