Still feel like Shield doesn't get enough love. Super underrated. I think it was just too early, it came before prestige tv and anti-hero protag shyt really took off a few years later (once sopranos was done done).

Shield doesn't get the respect it deserves, maybe this might help it out...hopefully

Whole time I'm like "who the fukk is this nikka he look familiar" and it's Donut ass

Up until this episode I was like "they saying Donut in this...where the fukk is he".

Finally on episode 6 and I'm like "that's muthaukin Donut"

That was ill and eye opening. It's like capitalism/society in general just pushes the idea that living lavish at any and all cost is worth it. And they know they will suffer later because of it. But I guess they count on reminiscing about better days will get them thru jail and disgrace. Crazy.
When Gondo went to the police department for the last time and he had the silk shirt and Louie belt. It was like illustrating despite being a cop I got to be fly. Fly while on the job to. Society is kinda past the point of no return when this is how law enforcement thinks.

Yooo that scene was telling. That dude was designer from head to toe. What a perspective. I wish I can rep you man…

that scene with the new police chief coming in talking about zero tolerance for corruption to only get knocked for it a couple months later was comedy & tragedy

I wasn’t thinking that too. But all biases aside it does look like a suicide. His death didn’t even get any cops off. They all still got sentenced.

HBO with another great series about some realness. That last 20 mins was deep. From police officers to the fukking mayor, everyone was corrupt. Everyone was like Wayne Jenkins to a degree. Acting like their shyt don’t stink. How mayor have a scandal trying to sell books? The new commish getting got on federal tax evasion? Wayne feeling like shyt in that last scene remembering that full of shyt speech with all the officers who went down with him cheering him on knowing it was all lies. Even though Suiter shouldn’t have taken the money and we all gotta face the consequences of our choices, them FBI cats were gonna shanghai him as soon as he showed up. And he knew so cuz his lawyer called him ASAP. Gonna binge watch this entire series over my long weekend next week and catch whatever tidbits I miss from the first viewing

Jenkins wasn’t lying when he said he was the sacrificial lamb while in custody and everybody was in on it.
