So, no one caught that Louis Gossett's character is invulnerable or impervious to pain or maybe heat-resistant? He drank boiling coffee and also plugged his hand into boiling water, without making a noise. Not to mention surviving the explosion and bullets during the first episode.

Also, Don Johnson's character seemed to have super-strength as he knocked the hatch off of the flying vehicle.

I figured it was some sort of mechanism that auto-released when triggered...similar to ejection seats in fighter jets. As far as Gossett, I figure he's a super of some sort. With his connections in "high places", he may be behind the scenes manipulating a lot of what's going on in Tulsa. I'm definitely interested in who he is and what his purpose is.
