Find me somebody not named K whose done more since Roy's been at UNC. You can't and you won't, so I'm not even gonna wait for a response.

Well how do you? One buzzer beater away from having more chips than K since he been on Tobacco road and more than Cal. Get rid of him for who? Who else walking thru those doors with that pedigree? It's easy to nitpick in losses, but Roy is alright with me. Makes a few head scratching decisions, but so does every coach.

The response I thought I'd get :russell:

It's played out
"Roy Williams can't be summed up by a buzzer beater"

and your response is flying to the scene with nothing but a cape and series of emotions. Yeah, the response we all thought we'd see here :mjlol:

It ain't even a few, its the same headscratchers. I just don't like the guy escaping criticism 24/7 - especially when he got real problems.

For a school that basically recruits itself and always will, I believe in keeping options open. If a guy like Brad Stevens wants to come back to college, then there doesn't need to be a statue of Roy outside erected because of our fear of another Matt Doherty.

Game was tied when Jenkins hit that shot. Roy was a buzzer beater away from overtime.

Did I say that just now?

Did I actually just type that out in response to this loss?

Did I quote you? :why:My first reply on tonight was after some cat named Black Lightning saying Roy ass need to go. Only thing I think you and I conversed about was this "buzzer beater away" narrative. :childplease:

Whoa....you guys are kinda harsh. Roy was a historic shot away from a chip earlier this year and one all time performance by a great player away from winning this game easily. Now he needs to go? Man he kept the recruiting somewhat serviceable in the face of this NCAA nonsense and still out here competing with these "5* Super Teams". If anything, Meeks needs to be benched. 7th is too damn timid. And Hicks can't stay outta foul trouble. This dude just damn near beat UK with Luke fukking Maye eating all Hicks minutes cause of foul trouble.Theodore comes back and we legit have a chance to be the best team in the country. This was just an amazing game where both teams traded blows. Sometimes you gotta tip your hat to a performance like that and keep it moving. I like where UNC is right now. Just give Tony more of Meeks minutes and hopefully wait until 7th get outta his own head and give Berry a legit chance to rest without the 2nd/3rd units falling to shyt at the PG position.

Seventh Woods only played 4 minutes. He had no affect on this game whatsoever. If anything look at Nate Britt and Kenny Williams the "experienced" guys who let a freshman drop 47 on their head. Watch the game Seventh will get pulled out of the game for one mistake where as Roy will let the upperclassmen play through it. Any recruit sees that and won't even take a UNC offer seriously anymore.

I was talking big picture. 7th the only one in this class that's still playing scared/lost. Yeah, Nate and Kenny got shytted on tonight.

Yeah he's playing timid and Roy should've thrown him in the fire during all those 20 point blowouts but instead he had Joel Berry playing meaningless minutes during those games. Seventh should've been prepared even if he was playing injured he should've been playing but instead Roy was too busy giving Stillman White all of his minutes. Brandon Robinson is tough too but Roy is so fixiated on giving his big men the ball his guards won't be able to do anything.

I went to Carolina, but this is silly. In no particular Order:

1.)K
2.)Donovan
3.)Calipari
4.)Calhoun

Roy inherited his First Team and then cut the nets again in 2016. But he's also had some of his best teams lose due to poor in game management. I can list if you'd like.

By why pick something so arbitrary as since he's been at Carolina? Roy was at Kansas prior with some of this best teams and suffered the same crunch time choke and poor in game management issues despite having superior talent.

He was also a basket away from going up at least 4 with under 10 remaining. That lack of play calling after the rebound by Luke led to a poor shot that directly led to the transition three. This isn't to take away from a good shot, but the point is to take control of the game when you have and lead your players to success.

Because I don't care what he did at Kansas this is about his time at Carolina. And there isn't a coach with a resume as good as Roy's since he's been at UNC, aside from K. Not Donovan, Caligari, Calhoun, or Izzo.
