jones did his thing and was very impressed with his clinical dismantling of texiara, whether glover was any good or just another in a long line of ufc (greatest fighter ever sold) stories we'll know from here on out.

Enjoyed seeing AJ's win especially in that fashion and to that opponent..Never really had a problem with phil and his aw golly persona until after the rashad fight where it was evident he had reached his ceiling.Dude is never goin to get better or be on the right side of an entertaining fight. Thanks for winning that contest against machida to put another L on his record but other than that he can go to hell. His obsession with jones in the lead up to this was a bit weird too glad he got a wakeup call

:pachaha: at the folks in here already saying aj/cormier, want to see that black on violence so bad you forgot dc has an appointment with henderson

Naw ppl just see it as a waste of time for someone as talented as Cormier. Like I said earlier, hes been feasting on no name cans, gatekeepers, and washed bums like Mir/Hendo for a min. Hes not getting any younger. He should be taking on key, worthwhile fights while he can. Even though Jones said it because he desperately wants to avoid Gus, Jones had a point with the top guys fighting each other statement. When did dudes like Bader become a litmus for getting title shots?

No one talkin about how Jones popped Glovers shyt

Jones-Teixeira+Shoulder+Wrench.gif

Legit heard 2 pops out that elbow.

That shyt was insane. I've never seen anyone land a musha-dori (basic jiu-jitsu self defense standing shoulder/elbow lock) in an MMA fight. Frank Mir got one on the ground off his back, but that's way easier than what Jones did. At least Mir was able to control the body and hold it fairly still. Glover was on both feet, and also had a free arm, and still couldn't break himself free.

Here's the one that Mir did, just for reference:

Jon JOnes chin is underrated. Glover had every chance to knock Jones out. Jones specfiically went into Glovers world and Glover still couldnt do shyt. Up against the cage, dirty boxing throwing bombs. Glover was getting his SNOTBOX ROCKED in there :damn: and couldnt even get a lucky KO. No Jones is just the truth and Gus will get the shyt beat out of him again.

That Black Excellence :blessed: JONES IS THE ONE!

Daps. He is the best LHW fighter of all time, and his chin is underrated for sure. Another thing that's underrated about him is his jiu-jitsu. Obviously last night you saw that standing should/elbow lock, but what I saw in a lot of Jones' earlier fights is his very creative use of creative arm triangles and guillotines.

He has a fantastic series/chain where he runs through the darce/brabo and the guillotine, and he's able to set up and finish both chokes from interesting angles. He has a really powerful north-south choke that he's also able to work in there, and his arms are so long, that I think if he can force his way into a half guard, or a knee-slice pass position, people will really need to be protecting their necks.

Most of Jones' fights have turned into battles fought largely on the feet, but don't forget that this guy finished an Americana on Vitor Belfort. I don't care who you are, Americanas don't get finished in high level MMA or BJJ/Nogi grappling. The last time I can remember an Americana being finished in the jiu-jitsu world was in Abu Dhabi in 2007, and in MMA Gabriel Gonzaga Americana'd some dude in like 2007 or 2008?

The fact that Jones was able to finish that submission on Belfort, to me, says a lot about his ground game. He just doesn't need to even go there right now.

Yea, hes very complete. Its great having young phenoms because you know they can only get better with age. As jones gets his striking defense and striking better it will be great to see what he can come up with later. The only thing JOnes does not have is KO power but i guess you dont need it when hes Ko'ing his opponents mentally.

Dude said he fought glover against the cage because he noticed he was winding up his punches

*you cant generate power with someone on top of you* :whoo:

:blessed: thats my champion.

First we need to finish off Machida/Weidman at UFC 175, then the winner vs Belfort. In the meantime Jacare can avenge his loss to Rockhold and winner can get the next shot.

This nikka Luke said he wants Bisbing or Belfort. Stop it. Jacare right there. Jacare getting kind of old though so i dont think he has much time left in the ufc. Luke is 29 i believe. I wish Jac had gotten better, sooner.

Bisping is a step down and is coming off a loss. Belfort has been promised a title shot vs the winner of Machida/Weidman. Jacare/Rockhold makes sense, both are close to a title shot.

jones and his camp approach these fights too intelligently for anyone to say that these eye pokes are accidental or dont give him an advantage.. it makes his reach that much harder to deal with cause when disengaging from an exchange he quickly paws your eyes for a safe exit.. but in this industry even if someone does something unfair or grey area illegal you come off like a bytch for complaining.. if he gets warned for point deductions in all his fights its obvious its a problem but unless they take that into account he will never have to change his style

you want rumble to knock gus out cause jones got a controversial decision off him? kinda dikkriding shyt is this? cant wait for the rematch now that i seen jones come back mentally strong from his worst/toughest fight
who the fukk said anything about their last fight? where in that quote do I mention Jones vs Alex? do people just pull shyt out of their ass for sake of argument on this site? :mindblown:
