i don't think he's reaching out like that on some "okay, i'm gonna poke him in eye now". i don't know what advantage you think it's giving him, other than mild discomfort that his opponents get to shake off when he does catch them in the eye. he can paw and reach all he wants, he's just gotta stop with the open-palm and loose fingers shyt...cuz he catches dude's eyes and that's against the rules. that's my only objection to it. if he can do that same shyt without eye-poking, then more power to him.

I dont think you get it. Of course he has good technique against a slow ass heavyweight with a gigantic hittable block head. Hes not going to be able to get in on Jones like that at all. I think his reach shorter then Glover's. What makes you think he can catch jones and beat him? He fought guys like Machida and Rashad who not only have similar hand speed but heavier hands and still dominated. Cormier honestly needs to fight better competition. Hes been feasting on cans and washed guys for a min now. And now hes going to beat on old Hendo. He should have waited for the winner of rumble/davis so we can get a true measurement on his chances at 205

I fukkin' LOVED JBJ's head movement. You can tell he worked on that shyt extensively throughout training because he timed Glover's haymakers almost perfectly, and knew when to duck and bob & weave at just the right moment.

It helps him to keep distance, which is a definite advantage. I don't think he's trying to hurt his opponents, but I believe he wants his opponents to second guess themselves if they want to close the distance.

Edit: I'm not making excuses for Glover [eyepokes or not, Jones clearly won that fight], I just believe that the eyepokes are unfair and like you said, against the rules.

Overall good card. Nice to see Jones back to dominating again but of course everyone wants to know if he can do the same against Gus. Davis looked like complete shyt. He needs a striking coach the worst way. Rufus, Ludwig, Cordiero hell anyone will do because its still the same as four years ago when he first came up. All the winners were impressive

Sherdog has been solid fun to read since the fight. That sweet anger and displaced rage. It's hilarious.

Jon does need to stop open handing so much but the way he makes people mad makes me like the guy he's got skill, fights tall better than damn near any mma fighter I can think of in history and he has a solid chin so he's gonna have those folks blood pressure sky rocketing for a long ass time.

jones did his thing and was very impressed with his clinical dismantling of texiara, whether glover was any good or just another in a long line of ufc (greatest fighter ever sold) stories we'll know from here on out.

Enjoyed seeing AJ's win especially in that fashion and to that opponent..Never really had a problem with phil and his aw golly persona until after the rashad fight where it was evident he had reached his ceiling.Dude is never goin to get better or be on the right side of an entertaining fight.Thanks for winning that contest against machida to put another L on his record but other than that he can go to hell.His obsession with jones in the lead up to this was a bit weird too glad he got a wakeup call

jones and his camp approach these fights too intelligently for anyone to say that these eye pokes are accidental or dont give him an advantage.. it makes his reach that much harder to deal with cause when disengaging from an exchange he quickly paws your eyes for a safe exit.. but in this industry even if someone does something unfair or grey area illegal you come off like a bytch for complaining.. if he gets warned for point deductions in all his fights its obvious its a problem but unless they take that into account he will never have to change his style
