:mjlol: @ people acting like Jones ain't get fukked up in the Gustafsson fight. He took a beating in that fight. He pulled it out but he wants none of those problems again. The fact that he refused to talk about Gustafsson at the press conference last night and how he's been trying to play match maker should tell you all you need to know.

@3:52 Brendan Schaub (who fought on that same card and shared a locker room with Jones) talks about how badly fukked he was after the fight.

I was disappointed to see Phil lose, one of my favorite LHWs.

I remember that. I'm certain somebody else mistook him for Rumble during the same expo. :lolbron:

Gus has next and he will be destroyed. He just needs to understand the pecking order.

Naw ppl just see it as a waste of time for someone as talented as Cormier. Like I said earlier, hes been feasting on no name cans, gatekeepers, and washed bums like Mir/Hendo for a min. Hes not getting any younger. He should be taking on key, worthwhile fights while he can. Even though Jones said it because he desperately wants to avoid Gus, Jones had a point with the top guys fighting each other statement. When did dudes like Bader become a litmus for getting title shots?
when jones became champ and cleaned the division? I mean if u look at the situation properly jones's gripe is rooted in fear of his wealth being in jeopardy nothing more. When he beat shogun he was ready for all comers, when machida was his next opponent he was :patrice: over the amount of ppv units that fight would fetch him. When gus was announced as his next opponent he was :dwillhuh: what exactly is the point of having 2 top 5 fighters destroy each other in a shallow division? :rudy:

ps and I know everyone is marveling at jones's chin but his last 2 fights are a disturbing reminder his striking d and head movement is :camby:

one weakness of jones is his boxing

thats why Gus had so much success vs jones, he exposed it.

look last night where was the jab and hes in love with those elbows too much, a nice right hook was needed vs glover

if he sorts out his boxing he will truly be unbeatable for years

This nikka Luke said he wants Bisbing or Belfort. Stop it. Jacare right there. Jacare getting kind of old though so i dont think he has much time left in the ufc. Luke is 29 i believe. I wish Jac had gotten better, sooner.

I wish Jac had gotten a look, sooner. Maybe I'm biased, because some of my earliest memories in training jiu-jitsu was in 07 watching Abu Dhabi videos of Jacare smashing everyone and seeing him in the 2004 Worlds against Roger Gracie letting his own arm get destroyed in an armlock just so that he could hang on to the points he had and win the title.

Jacare was a super hero to me, and a part of the Holy Trinity (Marcelo Garcia, Roger Gracie, Jacare) and I thought he was in DREAM and Strikeforce longer than he needed to be. Sure, maybe he didn't have the experience, but I always thought that he had the skill set to be in the UFC maybe a year or two before he actually came over.

I still think Jacare has a chance, but it's right now. If he ends up back at the bottom of the pile I do unfortunately think that it will be too late for his title dreams.

The weakness of Jones is that he has a hard dime parrying Jabs

One weakness of Gus is that he couldnt stop Jones from powershotting him all over his body to the point where he damn near crumbled in the final rounds.

who the fukk said anything about their last fight? where in that quote do I mention Jones vs Alex? do people just pull shyt out of their ass for sake of argument on this site? :mindblown:

What argument? Why would you bring up rumble when speaking on the wiki link? It never mentioned him but it did talk as if Jones didn't deserve the win over Gus which I spoke on?

Why are you so confused?

Gus was barely standing by the end of the Jones fight. He wanted to quit and he gave up mentally. I dont see why he deserves praise for 2 good rounds.

Im serious as cancer friend. Gus looked done in the champion rounds. He had no heart left inside.

:wtb:

So we had probably the best fight in LHW history. A super close, back and forth war with both fighters giving it their all and showing tremendous heart, but somehow 'Gus quit and gave up mentally':wtf::camby:

Yea his heart jammed in the champion rounds which is what allowed jones to win.

But that fight gave Jones the heart he needed to stand and bang with Glover, who he deciminated. I doubt gus could do that to glover.
